I'm a long standing member of Leigh Harriers and could ask the committee about a joint event with LISA to raise funds, they have a brilliant social room and are excellent at organising fun runs etc.
We could incorporate an event with the players during pre season training a fun run with your heroes , the kids might love that and I'm sure lots of adults would too,we could award the 1st player home with a LISA trophy.Get all the local rugby clubs to join in and award a prize to the club who finishes with most runners in the top 20.
Just an idea but why not use an excellent club and brilliant co (around the Flash) to get some funding,Andy Burnham loves running and I'm sure he would join in if time permits.
