Quote ="The Watcher"Yet again in this country a slight deviation from the norm & everything grinds to a halt. It was apathetic effort by WMBC & The Highways Agency, they should have been out on Saturday evening/ Sunday mornining gritting & then we would not have been in the position of snow falling on already frozen roads, they really are useless, unless of course it is looking after their index linked pensions that alot of our poll tax goes on.'"
The grit that is put on the roads in winter goes straight into the river systems and is absolutely wrecking them. The salininty of the rivers in winters jumps up. This kills our native river life that fish need to feed on in the winter. I quite like driving on the packed ice any way. Try using shanks's pony.
