| Just as an aside, I like looking at the statistics of our results.
This season under Powell we won 12 of his 22 games = 55%. (That's playing Wigan and Saints twice too).
Under Chambers we have won 2 of 5 = 40%. If we win the last 2 (and it's a big if) it will be 4/7 = 57%
Yet I get the feeling that some forum members believe we have turned a corner and we may have a run in the playoffs? Why is that?
BTW I am not knocking Chambers at all. He never touted for the job and has been dealt a pretty poor hand.

| Stats over 5 games mean bugger all.
Mind you ... you could have picked Powell's last five games to compare with. I'm pleased one or two are showing a little bit of optimistm as we have been dreadfully negative of late. Rugby League is doomed if we remain a pit of negativity for old miserable farts. (General comment of course ... not aimed at you at anyone in particular).

| I dont think anyone thinks we've turned a corner, there's been plenty of anti chambers comments on here in recent weeks. Be it dumb play or continued selection of the fans unfavourites.
Personally I just want this season to be over, it wouldn't bother me if we missed the play offs

I am exactly the same although making the playoffs would be an improvement on last season but that's meagre consolation.
Last decent season was 2019 with the CC win. It's been a grim 4 seasons since.
Also we look like we need a rebuild again so soon after the last one.

with a ending, i was in the north stand in front of the newly appointed robert elstone for that match v cas, he was less than pleased with the attendance, i pointed out to him we were less than pleased with the performances the club had been turning in post wembley, including that night.

| The thing is, Chambers is just holding the reins until he's DOR. I don't think we're expected by the club to hope for anything more than mediocrity until the new coach comes in. Anything better than 7th will be seen as a bonus by the club.
The one thing that gives me hope is that if we can manage to get 6th, anything can happen. We can go into every playoff game with nothing to lose and no pressure and try something different. We've seen the 5th/6th placed clubs do it plenty of times (especially to us) and if our big guns fire (that's a huge IF of course) then we might just make the final.

Beaten in golden point and beaten in the last few mins, when we ought to have won them both, compared to a double hand full of thrashings. There’s the difference. You can make stats of percentages look how you want. They don’t tell the story, just a headline.

Yes, we've definitely been better, no arguing with that. Whether we are good enough to make a difference in the last few games is another thing, but Chambers isn't under pressure to prove anything by the club.
