Too early in the season for me I'm afraid.
I understand the need for a gap between the CCF and GF, but end of July (or even mid July) would have been my choice - even if some people miss it because of hols.
End of July is 2.5 months before the GF.

In that case I think it needs to be considered moving it away from Wembley, in recent years it’s not looked good on TV seeing so many empty seats and if what you say happens it’s only going to look worse. |

Hopefully they will address, for me, the elephant in the room..... the yawing gaps between rounds and then a short break between semi and final leaving very little time for casuals to organise and in many cases club fans to get themselves organised properly. The most noticeable example being when we played Catalans and Les Cats fans having huge difficulties arranging flights / transport / hotels at such short notice..... contributing to the disappointing turnout. Overall, I think the Challenge cup has lost it's magic and needs some kind of revamp. The pretty much total lack of promotion for the 1885 cup final was also appalling.

I heard at Wembley it was June 8th.
I’m happy with that, it works for me.
I was completely against the August bank holiday week because it was watered down with the new wendyball season, because of rail issues and too late in the season to make a defining difference to the 2 RL competitions, the final almost overlaps into the playoffs.

I think most of the dates RL gets for competitions are governed by outside forces such as the availability of the stadium & tv schedules. Be better at Old Trafford when the football season has finished. |

I've never understood why they don't put flyers in EVERY single Rugby Union club in the country offering heavily discounted group tickets. Those fellas love a booze up and it's usually outside of their season - I think it's worth a punt.

I went to many Challenge Cup finals in the 90s and early 2000s, and it usually felt like a carnival atmosphere where fans of all clubs could wear their team's colours without any mither, just good-humoured banter. That atmosphere got less friendly in more recent times, though, and these days it's more likely that you are going to get grief from tanked-up idiots if you wear your team's shirt. That makes it much less fun, and is one of the reasons why I no longer go to big games as a neutral. |

Have to say, hated going to GF at OT, always felt uncomfortable, as if something was going to kick off at any minute.
Wembley was a bit better but now I wouldn't go to either for fear of drunken (or on the last 2 visits to OT, drugged up) 4rseholes intent on ruining everyone else's time and ultimately picking a fight for no reason.....TV for me, if I could even be bothered nowadays.
