Paul Cullen looks to be modelling himself on Tony Smith. Albeit, he does actually make eye contact, unlike Tony.

Wigan will not have a better chance to beat us. We have 7 first team players out and are currently decimated. They are missing Cooper and Smithies. Would be some win if we pulled it off.

Not sure on Dufty but we'll be missing Wrench, Clark, Harrison, Bullock, Dudson, Philbin, Mikaele (gone and not replaced), Holroyd and Thomas.

This is the game where you would want both teams at full strength going hammer and tong at each other and the crowd equally committed.
Shame neither will be anywhere near full strength.
Having said that, Catalans did an amazing job considering who they had missing Yao still excited!

Going from having the strongest pack to now having to potentially revert to using young kids in the front row is just so frustrating.

I can only see the bubble bursting v Wigan.

Apart from a few bragging rights, it won't be a massive drama. Potentially, we lose the next two tough matches while down on troops, and Wigan take top spot on points difference. That just relieves the pressure a little bit and may do us good in the long run. We'll still be second and looking good for a return to full strength.

Thomas injured?

The guardian says he could be in line to play, along with Green. I think Whitehead was injured wasn't he? Or Holroyd.

Holroyd was /is injured. Didnt think Whitehead was, but could be wrong.

So what's the potential 17? I also see nothing but a loss myself. Not the best way to go into 'Stains Week' really. Any word yet from the disciplinary about that idiot's tribunal, or will that be in a few day's time?

Got to say, if there is one side I really really dislike it's Wigan - even more than Saints.

And particularly ever since the Maguire era with his 'injure them' mentality. (My take on his playing style).

I’m surprised we’re writing ourselves off already. I’d say our 1-13 is potentially very strong. Even Casiano on the bench but the rest of the bench is going to be light i admit. I’m still quietly confident. I’d say Wigan have more influential players missing especially Field. Smithies usually gets through a lot of work and will need somebody to step up in replacement.

It'd be a nice surprise if we turned on the style and left them for dust, but I fully expect us to be dragged into another slugfest. You watch us get another player banned before the Saints game.
