| We couldn't ask for a tougher 3 games in sequence, so I was wondering what our expectations are? I'd be happy with 2 out of 3 given the expected intensity of each game and I think we may fall just short v Saints as we'll have blown plenty tank-wise if we win the other 2.
I say 'win the other 2', but definitely not a given as Wigan and Catalans deserve plenty of respect, I'm kind of judging things on current form.
I think a lot will depend on the players we have available too and their fitness levels.
Fingers crossed.

| Lot will depend on how much they take out of each other in the Wigan Saints game. Plus looks like both will be missing a key player, Field for Wigan and Walsmley for Saints. Also that game tends to be brutal so would come as no surprise bans handed out, as for Catalan I just don’t fear them at all. Infact the Catalan game we will only get beat if Catalan allowed to slow us down.

Yes, good point, this derby will likely have a considerable bearing.

| It's all about the performance, and learning from what works against the next three opponents and what doesn't. 0-3 would be disappointing, 1-2 would not be the end of the world, 2-1 would boost confidence and 3-0 would be incredible.
I'd be more happier with us doing better in July, when we play Saints (H) Wigan (A) and a potential Challenge Cup Semi in three consecutive weeks. These are the type of runs of fixtures that we have to perform at our next best, if were to be in the mix with the playoffs.
We look to be on our way to making the playoffs, and these matches will be a good yardstick of whether were we've got what it takes to be contenders in 2023.

They’re all more afraid of playing us that we are of them.

| Injuries are the key to this. If we lost a couple of our top boys all things change. If Wigan lost Bevan French as well as Field they would struggle. There are some lads who simply cannot be replaced. When we get ahead, unfortunately, I keep watching our boys for injury problems ... Dudson looked a bit unhappy. Walker a bit of a problem. I never worry if we don't score a hatful in the second half ... just keep out of trouble.

| The two away games are the two toughest in the league. However, we’ve got to be beating Wigan at home. They flatter to deceive greatly. Take French out the game and they are very average.

| It's a big task to win all three, but in isolation each of those teams should be as worried about playing us as the other way round.
I have a funny feeling the likes of Johnstone, French and Welsby will have spotted those slightly airy Dufty passes over the top so, if you're reading this Matt - please just rein those in and dummy under the sticks instead.

Absolutely. My worry is that Moose and Sam could either or both leave us skinny in the following weeks.

Apparently a couple of the players on the bench were unwell, I suspect that Dudson may have been one of them.

| I think you've got a good chance of winning all three. Catalans are there for the taking, they're going to take a beating off someone soon. They started the season well, but you can see the slowdown in their performances. The collapse second half against Leeds was telling and they've backed that up by almost losing to a truly horrendous Cas side at home. You'll put 20+ on them. You've then got Wigan at home and they'll have played us in the derby, which is emotionally draining even if they win comfortably. The only chance I see of you struggling in that game is the travel back from France causing a bit of a slower start. But I only see that reducing the score, not changing the result. If you win both of those you'll be on top of the world confidence wise and there's every chance you'll beat us. We're a million miles away from hitting top form, or any form recognisable as us from previous years, and have potentially just lost Walmsley for a while. That would make it a bit of a mismatch in terms of the size on the bench. You could have four props and we'd have LMS and Delaney. It'll be interesting to see our squad for the Wigan game when it's announced. People saying now that Paasi and Walmsley could both be out. You'd beat us by plenty if that's the case

Field is going to be a huge miss for them, if French gets an injury in that time Wigan will struggle.

| I don't think we will win all 3 of the next games (ill be absolutrly beaming if we do), but I don't think we will lose all 3 of them either. The way we are able to impose our game on these teams will be a good indicator of our chances come the business end. If we perform as we have been doing I will be happy enough even if we come out on the end of the wrong result a couple of times.
I'm looking forward to seeing mcguire on the pitch, I hope he let's his rugby do the talking though.

| Based on current form you’d expect Cats to be the easiest game, but I’m sure they’ll be up for this one. Could be a great game if both teams play at their best. Really looking forward to seeing McGuire at last.
For Wigan we have home advantage, just hope that we don’t pick up any more injuries this week.
The only issue now is that statistically we [ishould[/i lose our first game very soon. I think I’d rather that be Cats or Saints away than Wigan at home. I’d like to see us remain unbeaten at home if we can.

| Only concern I have with the Catalan game is how much they will be allowed to slow the ruck down. Can’t remember which game it was it was a TV match and at the time I was thinking wow they are getting away with a lot without being penalised. Can’t remember who reffed that one but if they get away with it again it will hurt us as we are about speed, otherwise I still expect us to win.

I like the way the video ref today cleverly feigned neutrality by awarding the penalty try, but then showed his true allegiance by denying the Cats try at the end. And the reason Dudson gave that wry smile as he walked off was because he’d agreed with the ref earlier to do something to get sent off, to leave Saints fans in a false sense of security, thinking they’re not the only team to get players sent off. Fascinating stuff.

Actually disappointed with Redvee I thought the Dudson red card would have gotten it’s own thread on there.

| Still think we can win both these games. But if I was forced to take a loss I’d think I would take Wigan and beat Saints. But like I said I think we can still win both and then a lot of the lads get a week off for the international.
