They look pretty good v St George, excellent in the first 20. Still very reliant on Walmsley and Hurrel still a defensive liability but their pre-season billing as SL favourites looks fair.

Will be interesting to see if they can repeat the intensity for the WCC next week. The age old, justified argument being Englsh clubs couldn't cope with NRL levels week in, week out.

I hope Penrith stick 50 on them.

This is the age old debate of whether you support the British team or NRL team in the world club challenge. I find it interesting that some fans on here can say 'i hope Penrith stick 50 on them'. I find this disappointing as i am in the camp of supporting the British team all the way. Even though i hate Saints there is no way i could support an Aussie team. Not to mention a British team getting trashed would not do the game over here any good whatsoever. Good on em beating St George i say.

I hope Saints get thrashed and I'm sure most Saints fans would do the same to us if by some miracle we ever made the WCC.

Phil Gould said it will be over by half time and end a cricket score, he's an absolute whopper, so I hope saints make him eat his word personally. Go saints.

I totally agree with you wirecation. I think if we are wishing teams from other country's to turn us over like that, we might as well be anti-English towards our clubs.

I don’t dislike Aussies…league is their number one sport after all. I do loathe St Helens. Couldn’t give a hoot about ridiculous patriotism. Come on Penrith. Saying that Saints will walk Super League again.

They played ok against a pretty weakend St.George team. If they play like that against Penrith they'll be in trouble. But i hope they do beat Penrith as when it comes to us vs the NRL i'm firmly behind any English team. And if Saints do win, watching the Aussies pile on excuse after excuse is always fun

The match should be a good comparison between the game and teams in north and south hemispheres. Hope the Saints team wins, however, can we endure the Saints speccies ongoing crowing about their wonder team. Doubt it...

For me, it's a game that we, the English, seem to place much more importance on than the Aussies have ever have, or ever will.

From what we see of the Aussie league, are we really expected to believe, even if they somehow manage a win, that Saints are the best RL club side in the world?

Have been a Penrith season ticket holder for the past 23 years but having spent my first 26 years living in England where I was weaned on RL I have always supported any UK team playing here. So I will be in the St Helens corner this Saturday.
I have attended all 4 of the previous WCC matches played in Aus including the 1976 match when St Helens lost to Eastern Suburbs.
