.....when watching clips over the close season.
When a player is on his way to scoring a long distance try, say from an interception, he often has a speedier team mate on his shoulder as back up who subtly keeps in between his colleague and any opposition player chasing back. Watching some clips with Jake Mamo as the supporter, he often made it quite evident that he was obstructing. Could the subsequent try be disallowed?
Going back a bit further, I watched a Saints clip where they were winning by a couple of points, with 15 seconds to go. Long got the ball in the middle of the opposition half, and ran unopposed towards his own line, glancing over his shoulder, before wildly celebrating when the hooter sounded. At the time it seemed the height of arrogance but a couple of games later, our our Lee Briers was doing it.
