Is it me or does his attitude stink towards Warrington and Powell or is he just thick?
https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/ru ... h7gb7Ut5nQ
Quote “I’m contracted to Warrington so there is no pressure on me'"
No pressure can always come back to Warrington if hes .
Quote “Watto has been brilliant with me and given me that freedom to get back to my best.”'"
We clearly restrict the genius and make him miss tackles.
Quote “But I think coming to Huddersfield really gives me an opportunity to make a good impression and get that hunger back.'"
So no hunger whilst playing for Warrington and no need to make a good impression
Quote “I never thought I’d go from the season I was having at Warrington at the bottom end to end up being in a side with a chance of reaching the Grand Final.'"
So he never thought we would have a chance of making the Grand Final either. I notice the Warrington is still in him though - note use of "reaching" as opposed to "winning"

| It's not great, I think a straight swap would be good for all parties at the moment. I would certainly be happy with that, as much as I like Toby King and really rate him if he doesn't want to be part of the future and Wardle does then I know who I would rather have.
Wardle was terrific yesterday, he would be an excellent signing for us and I would love for that to happen.

| I hope Wardle is staying too. He looks like he fits straight into a Powell-style side, and yesterday you wouldn’t think that it was his first time playing inside Ashton.
My only worry is injuries, and how his shoulder will stand up to an inside pass from Ashton.

| Yes, as an outsider looking in, I think you'd be much better off with Wardle.

| Wires71 I think you over interpret what players and coaches say to the media. They get some journalist coming up to them asking stuff and have to answer in the moment, they aren't PR spokespeople.
I am generally from the same school of thought as you on King. I always thought he was a bit overrated and couldn't understand last year when people were saying we had to break the bank to get him signed up as though he was a generational talent. I never thought he was anywhere near Bridge or Atkins level.
But if the move to Huddersfield helps him recapture his form and feel more settled than here good luck to him, it's his home town club and I wish him well. I'm not bothered by what he says to the press.

| His form since his injury has been below. par, a change of scenery may be exactly what he needs. I suspect he wasn’t happy and his comments are a “come and get me plea”. Likely saying to Warrington, don’t even think about asking. for a fee.

Doubt there will be any expectation from Warrington for a transfer fee.
Toby`s problem will be that Huddersfield will not pay him the huge salary that Warrington awarded him.
That has probably not dawned on him yet..

I probably do. I look for inner truths and deeper meanings to gain insight. I should stop
So my view is that King is massively overrated (even when he was in his better form as he lacks some fundamental centre skills and pace). He also comes across as a entitled brat who thinks the world owes him something. Probably guilty of believing his own agent's hype. As you say we have had far, far better centres before and will have far, far better centres again. He can do one and I hope we ing smash him when we next play Hudds. Other than that I wish him well.

| No. And if it took letting Cooper go to be able bring in Kasiano, Dudson and Vaughan, I can live with it. Our pack is unrecognisable from the mess we started this season with. I've always been excited about Harrison, Mikaele has been a pleasant surprise and Nicholson might be our most inspired signing for a long while.

its been a painful rebuild, as it has obvioulsy effected performances... which it was always going to do.
we do have a lovely looking pack for next season though dont we
for the first time in like 6/7 years.

| Can't think of anyone bar Cooper either. Interesting too that Hughes (I think) is going to Leigh and not a more established club.
I think Matt Davies is also off to Leigh too, but I feel a bit sorry for him as he's kopped some flack, despite (probably) being one of the lower earners.
Does anyone know where the rest of our departures are heading to? Apart from Cooper going to Wigan, I'm not sure any top sides will be taking any on.

funny isnt it, that after leaving our club, players are finding their level... which mostly seems to be lower down.

...and becoming more apparent why we need a clear out. I honestly think Currie would have gone at the end of the season too if he didn't have another year on his contract.
It's only Cooper as far as I can see who's been accepted by a heavyweight club, the rest aren't even being courted by mid-table clubs (as far as I can see) bar Widdop, though I don't have a list of all those leaving players.

lets be honest... value for money wise, widdop was a terrible player to have on the books.
cooper is the only player i have been a bit gutted about, as ive always liked him... but i realise there are 'reasons' for the exit... so im totally fine with it.

| I can't think of a club doing better mid season business in superleague. I may be wrong on that and there could be things I've overlooked but mikaele, Wardle, Nicholson and even amor have made a very quick impact on the team, should throw Harrison in there too. I'm really glad that the club have acted mid season rather than waiting until next season. Credit where its due.
We don't know how well the signings for next season will go, but on paper there is some great business for the 2023 squad. Tie up Wardle as well and I'll be delighted.

| I know the rumours of Hughes to Leigh have just popped up, but him signing with Huddersfield have been doing the rounds for a few months now so that might be an actual thing.
Matt Davis i really like, he's full of energy and aggression and never takes a backwards step. He's just not big enough to play in the forwards at this level, which isn't his fault.
Jason Clark i think is retiring, Widdops off to Cas and Coops to the scummy pies. The rest i think are off to lower league teams.
I can't wait for next year i really can't, but i'm excited to see if we can hold on to the form shown at catalans and start pushing hard for the playoffs

I thought he looked hungry and much more confident running his lines. I guess that’s because the team as a whole seemed to be enjoying themselves and feeling buoyant. If he can get back to near his best, that left edge with Wardle <<prays for 2023>> and Ashton could be lethal.

Yes and reveals what I suspected over the past few years: the Price squad wasn't "as good as any in Super League" which we tried to claim. It was really a bunch of good-but-not-great individual players, who weren't leaders, who would interest mid-table clubs but not the teams who were winning Grand Finals.
Now our players are available and being moved on, there isn't a big rush from Saints or Wigan to pick off our talent. They are looking at our players and thinking hmmm thanks, we'll pass. Apart from Cooper.
