Quote ="Saxy"Finally made it over here from SA and planning to come to the game on the 29th Jan - my first time at the HJ and the first time I will have seen the Wire live since Boxing Day 1993.
Bringing my wife and 5-year old daughter (both new to the UK) so my question - which stand should I book tickets in for the nicest family atmosphere with a good view of us hammering Wigan?
You can't imagine how excited we all are, so any advice for making it a real family treat would be hugely appreciated - Thanks lads and lasses!'"
Since it’s a big holiday I’d go all out and spend the extra few quid for the North stand. Usually there’s more atmosphere behind the sticks at a ‘normal’ game, but for a friendly and a good introduction to RL for the family, I’d pick a stand that has the better overview of the game.
Hopefully there’ll be some entertainment of some sort on in the concourses for the kids. The match day experience on a normal game is very different to what you’ll have known previously. There’s usually a live band under the stand, kids activities, half time games etc. However, I wouldn’t expect this at a friendly.
Hope the weather doesn’t put the family off!
