To be fair to RD, anyone who has suffered from covid who has been ill badly through this would agree with him. A lot of people many months after having covid, their health has been not the same, although athletes should be fitter it has affected people very differently. To many on here jump on his back for some comments agreed, but this is not one of them. I for one would think playing Wigan after a two week lay off being people suffering covid, could massively affect the score, those who have been ill badly through would agree

How many athletes suffer to that extent though? Most don't even know they've had it, added to those that are isolating as they're a close contact.

I'm not disputing the devastating effects it can have, mainly on the elderly. I almost lost a close family member last year so I know all to well the damage it can cause.

Which puzzlers me more why you question the match health/condition of the players that caught c-19 ahead of a game vs the arch enemy.

Ultimately we won't know the condition they are in, only themselves and the club's medical staff will know that. They'll know if they're in a condition to play or not.
