Didn't we also lose to them in c1988 - 1991 period? I can remember going to the match (it was away) and it ed down all afternoon.

We lost 10-8 in November 1991.

Beat them 62-8 two months later, which was the last time we played them before the 2011 fixture.

That would be the one. A friend had married a chap from Swinton who lived quite close to the ground. We parked there but we didn't stand with him at the match. Came back drenched and beaten then had to look at the smug look on his face.

I remember the 62-8 game at Wilderspool. Didn't they have Chris O'Sullivan who had played for us the year before? Although I don't think he played for some reason.

Also remember the 10-8 loss but didn't go. That was a weird season, from memory. Losing to Wakefield at home, beating Leeds away, beating Castleford and then losing to Swinton the next week. We had a small pack and no real goalkicker (Chris Rudd and Dave Lyon were inconsistent).

My abiding memory of Station Road is the infamous Keith Holden 'pot hole' incident. Effectively finished his career.

I was there. We were shat, the weather was shat, 4 seasons in 80 mins and that wasn’t Frankie Valli on tape either. I remember we had Sullivan, too little too late. Sure he was at Swinton the year after. He looked like Chris Deburgh, and played like him too. Embarrassing.

I went to church every Sunday for a year afterwards praying a crater would open up on the centre circle and their groundsman would be swallowed up, mower and all, never to be seen again.
