| During the course of HMRC’s audit, one administrative employee was found to not have been paid in accordance with NMW regulations for a short period during 2017. This had been caused by a clerical oversight at the time the individual commenced employment with the company. The company quickly responded to the situation and carried out a full investigation into the circumstances that led to the oversight.
Minimum wage was £7.50 per hour in 2017, that equates to about 15 weeks of working a 40 hour week if my maths is right. Stands by for corrections.

| I am obviously going to defend my club and i don't know how the pay structure works but on the odd occasion i have been underpaid i kick up a fuss and make sure i get it back that day or at least in the next wage packet. How do you miss 15 weeks of wages? i don't get it.

It's odd, maybe over the period of a whole year, this must have been someone not getting paid for 3/4 months which you would assume the employee would pick up on it, unless its Farrell's wife still on payroll n not wanting to kick up a fuss like lol.
I'm sure it was an individual error and oversight I'm just amused at the fact its gotvwigan onto the government list of rogue employers ool

| I think the most likely reason for this, rather than not being paid at all is that a new starter was put on the wrong rate because someone didnt understand the correct rates for different ages. This would mean it's for an even longer period but it could also explain why the employee didn't raise it. A young person in a new minimum wage job is less likely to kick up a fuss and also might not be fully aware of minimum wage laws.
Poor from the club, shows a lack of internal controls.

| No reputable employer will pay below the minimum wage. Those named in this report are pretty much all admin "errors" due to tax or benefit in kind issues. The problem is with those paid cash in hand or worse, so that HMRC never know about them. The worst culprits are in effect modern slave owners.
