MOS Paul mcshane , I disagree How can you pick a player from a team that has come no where near challenging for a major for me it was be an French or coote , it’s easy to stand out in a cas team

How Lomax doesn't even get nominated is a joke and i detest St Helens. Mcshane as MOS sums up this season and the standard of SL as a whole.

I didn’t think Lomax had a particularly stand out season. Coote and Walmesley were Saints main players for me.

If you looked at his highlight reel for the MoS awards his play is top draw against Salford, Hull KR, Wakefield and Huddersfield but not one clip against a top four side.

Therein lies the problem with current scoring for MoS award, compounded by the shortened season this year.

I would have him behind Roby, Powell and even Clarke in terms of performance at hooker this year.

His family is happy about it, so that’s reason enough and good enough for me. No one stands out a long way....so I’ve no complaints. For sure, no one at Wire deserves it.

In the first few games Cas did well and McShane did well. Since lockdown both he and they have done absolutely nothing. It's just a bizarre decision and just sums up the competition and the sport in this country. It's falling apart so rapidly under Elstone that you have to wonder what will be left in a few years. It has been said that Ellery Hanley picked the winner because they decided the points system wasn't fair because of the uneven number of games. He chose McShane as the best player in Super League. Hanley is the same guy who wanted Saints to release Keiron Cunningham and sign Sean Penkywicz.I'm not sure he's the best judge of a player's ability.

Out of all of the players nominated coote would have been my pick followed by Farrell. French getting man of steel nominations because he scores fancy tries shows how bad MOS has gotten in the voting.

So your opinion on the game is in line with Warrington fans on an internet forum but the guys who actually play the game think differently

The new system suits a standout player in a team low on stars....Salford, Castleford.
Players at these clubs will consistently be the standout performer, win or lose at their clubs and score top points for it, in contrast, teams full of stars top marks keep flipping between them...so the stars get marked down because they are judged on scale by their position against a co-player instead of how well he played with a value against players Performance in all teams.

You can argue the Albert Goldthorpe medal scoring is across the card and better.

It could well have been. Either way, being arguably the greatest player ever doesn't mean you'll be the best coach, manager or judge of a player's ability ever. Tons of evidence of that about.

the system is flawed, people over reacted to a couple of players playing silly s the year before last picking their mates, which had happened for years and year before hand.

i've disagreed with the albert goldthorpe award scoring since it started, with sympathy points being given out.

Bear in mind, this has been won by a player on a team that won 2 games since the restart in august, including a 5 match losing streak and a couple of these were kickings as well.

Paul mcshane is a good hooker, but there's no way he's been as critical to cas, or as unplayable as walmsley or bevan french this year.
