| Becoming something of a liability as well, defensively weak and puts his teammates under pressure with some pretty dumb play for an experienced player.

| Erm surely Austin is more deserving of the criticism tonight?? He was absolutely woeful and would be dropped if Price had any knackers. King and Currie need to get back to second row, much more dangerous with those two there. Ratchford was excellent.

| Rubbish to blame Widdop. Austin decided not to play after getting smashed by Partington. Widdop was trying to be creative to make something happen although not successfully. We will probably go on a losing run now but can't blame Widdop for losing that game. On marquee players Ratch should be one of ours.

I thought he was pretty solid in defence tonight. Widdop had a go tonight, Austin on the other hand went hiding.

| Widdop/Austin both as bad as each other tonight, the partnership isn’t working, time for a change. However, that’s unlikely to happen isn’t it?

| Ratchford got the ball in broken play and if he wasn't sure what was on ran direct at them to gain bonus yardage, widdop and Austin get the ball it's a hop and a skip and a total lack of ideas. Ratchford had the immediate instinct to do what will hurt the opposition but Austin and widdop didn't tonight. Gelling and King were the same, asked a lot more questions of wigan than our halves did. The last tackle plays for field position just stank.

| Austin was the weak link tonight...once he got hit he didn't really want to know... his defence was terrible and Wigan targeted him. Our attack is toothless at times.

| Why not? Patton has delivered more defence splitting passes in the miniscule time he's played recently than widdop and Austin combined over the last ten games.

| If Dec Patton put in the performance Austin did tonight, or even last week, he’d be out on loan next week.
I thought Price had the nerve to punish mediocre performances.
Austin being un-droppable because he’s a marquee?

| Duckie is right. Austin has cost us two games on the trot. Anyone else would be having a good sit down after that. Let's see what happens. Our recent good performances seemed to have come from when Price's hand was forced in team selection. His go-to second row of Hughes and Clark tells you all you need to know about his genuine attacking ambitions. Toby King could be one of the best second rows in the country. Time for him to move there permanently IMO.

Thanks. In defence of Hughes, he looks like he’s still trying to play himself into match fitness. He did have a lengthy miss preseason. Jace Clark tackled his heart out.

| The only decent pass from 6 or 7 positions this season that I can recall, came in the last 5 mins to give us our last win from Patton.
The guy does not deserve to be sitting games out this season because of our marquee players.

| Widdop fb
Patton 7
Ratchford 6
Clark 9
Austin bench (and 3 forwards)
I’d have the bottle and do it.

| From what I’ve seen of Brad Dwyer this season he’s created more than Austin.Slowly going off him and Widdop is creeping on my worst signings list.

| I actually thought Widdop was decent tonight, certainly looked the more likely of the half’s you create something. Austin clearly picked up an injury after that hit in the first half.
Effort and desire was there tonight, we made plenty of meters, but again found a little wanting when it came to breaking down a tough defence. All comes back to attacking structures for me.

| We've still never found our Briers replacement. Speaking of which it looked like he and Price had crossed words at the end.

You keep saying this as if it automatically makes him a better player.
Mark Flanagan won a grand final playing at stand off, Lee Briers never. Doesn’t make Flanagan better.
