| I’ve been impressed with young Danny Walker over the last couple of weeks, does the simple things well and gets stuck on with the tackles. Good interchange with Darren Clarke. Looks a lot fitter and bulked up this year, interested what other peoples views of him?

Agree with you and seems to be improving all the time which is all you can ask.

| I've not seen too much that's impressed me really. I think his distribution is a little slow and obvious. It's too early to write him off really though. He has definitely improved since last year I have to give him that. He could still develop in to a really good player but for me he has a way to go.

I'm suprised by that RD I thought he'd be your cup of tea.
I like him - plenty of bottle, defends well, aggressive but doesn't concede many penalties, quick off the mark and safe hands - what's not to like? Certainly not the finished article but improving steadily and it took Daryl Clarke himself twelve months to start showing his MOS form.

He IS too small, but not ruled him out though. He needs to play above his height and attack. If all he is going to do is pass from acting halfback, I’d rather see Patton there instead.
If Walker steps up is his forward game, I’ve not forgotten the stinker he had a few weeks ago, I can quickly be a fan.

| I know he’s not the finished article, Rob borrows was small and he wasn’t bad. I just think Danny has shown vast signs of improvement and will be interested to see how he develops.

Rob Burrow is the famous ex-player now suffering from MND.

| I know this is a big comparison at such a young age but Walker is more like monaghan than Clark.
He does some little things that are very similar to Monas. If anybody still has the games recorded I would sughest a quick look at the following.
A) Hull KR game. At the PTB for widdop try around the 60 minute mark Walker picked the ball up from DH and just took a few steps to draw the marker before passing to cooper who turned it back inside for Ratchford. If he hadn't have taken those couple of steps then the marker would have nailed Ratchford when cooper passed it back inside - very Monaghanesque.
B) Against Cas for Gellings try on 38mins again at the PTB everything looked like he was set up to pass to his right but switched it very late to pass to his left to Austin (watch O'brien at fullback take 3/4 steps to his left thinking that Walker was going to his right). The Cas left edge defence didn't even move up to put pressure on Austin for the kick because they didn't see that the play was coming that way.
C) Again against Cas Walker did the same when Blake Austin nearly scored but got clattered by Milner. Walker shapes to go left and all the defence thinks the same.
I made no secret I am in the Walker fan club and was made up when we signed him, I saw him play for Rylands since under 7's. He is a quality player and creates space for those around him like Monaghan used to do. It is the little very subtle things that he does
