| Better that they make a decision early than just run out of time and then come up with something controversial and unpopular right at the last minute. For once rfl have been proactive and made a sensible decision. It's not a normal season and this ensures that at least it will have an end!

| FARCE! It doesn't factor in teams playing more games and the effect that has on the pool of players they can pick from. It stands to reason if you play more games your players are more likely to pick up injuries. Therefore any team that plays less games is at an advantage to those who expose their players to more punishment in games. Teams with depleted squads due to injury are likely to loose games they would expect to win with a full squad of players.

| Let's only agree to play against teams we know we can beat...we only need to play 15....so falsify covid results when we are due to play Wigan and Saints...and only play against the likes of Wakefield, Hull KR and Huddersfield.

| We could use a 'robust algorithm' like Ofqual did for exam results, to impute results of fixtures that aren't fulfilled, based on last year's performance. Salford might get LDLL upgraded to LWDL etc.

| Very sensible reaction on Saints site. We need to get to the end of the season somehow and this seems as good a solution as any. Our club did us proud by playing the Hull match, example set!

| With this in mind. The fact we have 7 out Covid related (Isnt Widdop the Covid Positive player?) should not be seriously considering postponement as wins are going to be more crucial than ever? The new rules and regs state 7+ players out, and the club can consider postponement?

| I wonder how Sky will react to this should we end up not fulfilling our part of the bargain, in relation to the deal struck to get us through 2020.

| I think that this is just recognition that it may not be possible to play all of the league games.
The threshold for cancelation is high, 7 or more of the top 25 earners due to COVID. So far I think that we are the only club to have met that criteria and we still chose to play the game against Hull FC. Whether we will go ahead with the Castleford match remains to be seen, but I think that we will (we have to think about fixture congestion later on when opposing teams can’t meet the scheduled date).

| I don't honestly think any clubs will be thinking of ways to manipulate the new rules just to try to get an advantage. The big picture here is that the future of the sport at the top level is at stake if this season goes belly-up, and all teams should know that they need to get out there and play whenever possible. I'm proud of the fact that we played against Hull FC, and even more proud that we won under those circumstances. If people are looking for a perfect solution to this season's problems, they will probably be disappointed, because I don't think there is one. But hopefully we can still get to the stage where four teams make the play-offs on merit, and one of them (hopefully Wire) are crowned champions.

But we seem to play better against Saints and Wigan and usually drop a clanger against lower teams! I wish we could play Hull each week though

| Crying to get the game called off just so we avoid a loss is pretty pathetic really.
How many times on here have we had people saying, why don't we give young lads from the Academy a chance?
Everyone knows its an unusual situation, yes they might get beat 80-0, nobody will hold it against them. You might see one lad look like he has the potential to hold his own in SL in difficult circumstances which will be valuable information.
The other thing that is striking about the return to SL is how many players are testing positive. I don't know anyone that has had covid since about May and it feels like the virus has more or less died out in the population at large. But once you get people in close contact again it seems to be able to get a foothold very quickly. Now we've got the schools back, and will have the universities back in a couple of weeks with all the freshers getting off with each other, plus the government's drive to get everyone back into the offices and on the trains/Tube, you can see how October could end up being like March with the virus rapidly circulating and forcing more lockdowns.

Maybe we could call off a match in a limited and specific way?

| Most people come on here to talk RL and Wire, but unfortunately in this instance I think we need to look at the bigger picture. It's not a normal year due to Covid and most clubs are desperately short of funding. So if we are to see the game return to normal at some point in the future, SL needs to fulfil its commitments to Sky and secure whatever funding it can from other sources. That means playing out SL2020 in whatever format / scoring system / venue and date we can get to work. It looks increasingly unlikely that we will see live crowds returning because of the increase in infections. That will be another body blow for clubs, particularly those that own their stadium. And our 2021 season should start in February - in the Winter period when viruses normally flourish. I would therefore imagine most CEO's and Chairmen are already starting to worry about whether they can possibly get back to any form of normality for next years competition.
At the moment our playing squad are putting on a quality show each week and providing us with some good rugby and entertainment. Yes, I would still like us to stuff every team we play but perhaps we should be less concerned about trophies this year and simply enjoy the fact that we are at least seeing some rugby.

We have deadly viruses going around every winter and have never closed down before.
Have we, as a society, now reached a point where we will close down every winter to protect ourselves from flu, covid, or whatever deadly coronavirus is doing the rounds?
