| Interesting one. Retired 12 months ago with injuries that although they weren't career ending were enough to mean that he 'could no longer play to the standards he set for himself'.
This is either one huge retirement party for Greg or he's doing a Jamie Lyon and has refound his lost love for the game. You'll either have a monumental scapegoat for next season or arguably the greatest signing Super League has ever seen.
Presumably he'll play centre for you?

| We won't mention the salary cap. Whilst Leeds are canvassing other clubs to support reducing it to £1.8m, Warrington and Saints are handing out deals up to the current limit so they can pull a Wigan and go "Oh dear, we appear to have existing contracts way over the £1.8m, however did that happen Gary? We're sorry mate".
But has there ever been a more expensively assembled squad in Super League? Widdop, Austin AND Inglis on the same salary cap? Plus Ratchford, Clark, Hill etc... Madness, but great news for Super League in general. I suspect you might do okay next year if he's anyway near motivated and fit.

Jamie Lyon was a young man, not old (for a rugby league player) and retired. He knows what SBW is earning so I can’t imagine he’ll have come for less, but then Simon Moran can afford that sort of money - peanuts for him. Salary Cap though?

| Well i'm not sure how i feel about this, he retired because his knee is goosed so unless it's magically healed aren't we just signing a retired Rugby league player with a bum knee?
Unless his body just needed a long rest which i doubt i can't see this being an amazing signing for us. I assume he'll be tempted as most Aussies think we're nowhere near the NRL level and will come over and boss everything. He'll take a quota spot and i assume a big chunk of salary cap, unless he can prove he is 100% fit and healthy this could be absolutely bizzarre or one of the best things we've ever done.

There's no chance we'll pay anything near SBW kind of money for him. But he win't be cheap.

Huge signing, be fascinating to see how it goes for him over here.

| Cant wait to see him in superleague, definitely a risk, but could just as easily be a master stroke. More importantly, it gives you Wire fans something to look forward to, something that shows your club is determined to crack on and aim big , planning for post lockdown and beyond.
All we get as Leeds fans are constant doom and gloom articles from GH, retention/recruitment on hold and lower the cap nonsense....Getting very tiresome from Leeds.
Anyhows...Congrats on Inglis.

He won't command the same wage he used to as he was retired, but still won't be cheap. Does this mean Gelling is gone?

| I know he has played much of his career at full back, but has played plenty at centre too. My first thought was he would line up at centre for us?
I'm waiting for the marquee spot confirmation! If there isn't one there would be a big hit on our salary cap.

He'll be our highest paid player I would expect?
Probably, has been rumoured for a while, but then we could always move King in to the pack?

| Whenever we make a big signing we get the inevitable jibes about the salary cap. Fans of other clubs seem to be oblivious to players leaving. We will have 2 huge earners in Currie and BMM coming off the cap At the end of the season. No doubt they will both have been on peanuts once they're leaving!

Is our kit for 2021 going to be baggy trousers and dirty shirt combo?

| I don’t actually give two hoots now you’re affording him, it’s a fantastic signing for you and SL. Especially at a time when inexplicably some clubs want to drive the sport backwards, up come Warrington to at least try and drive it forwards. Fair play to you, if only the RFL/SL had the vision and marketing nouse you have we would be in a much better situation as a sport.

Have a tissue? I'm not complaining about the signing, it's great news for the sport and I can't wait to watch him play next year, just hope we're back to crowds being allowed by then.
Saints are close to announcing a big signing of our own, although not on the magnitude of this one it would have been a decent sized fish before Warrington threw a nuclear bomb in Ackers Pit and landed a whale.

| Didn't see this one coming, judging by lack of rumours neither did most, perhaps if he has been out for 12 months and put some pud on he could be our go forward ball handling prop everyone wants.
