Even with their history the points deduction seemed harsh to me, although a longer period of suspension would have been a better deterrent.

If the penalty is suspended does that mean they were guilty ?
If so, as serial offenders they should be punished.
One law for Everybody and no law for Wigan it seems...... again. The Stuart Fielding and the Dobson signings by Wigan are still the most shameful examples of RL ineptitude and flagrant bias to date

Admittedly, I do not know the full ins and outs but if the RL has subsequently closed a loop hole then I suppose it is a good thing in the round.

For the sake of £16k definitely not. Our club seems to understand the rules and are aware of legitimate ways of expanding the salary cap by use of exemptions. It can’t be coincidence that after we announce the signing of Luther B there is now so much talk about George Ford.

Would be interesting to see how effective £16k is in terms of buying extra SL points - I wonder how many wins that got them.

Had those 2 points came off when the should have...I've a argument to say Cas may have beaten Wigan then in the S8 and then again in the semifinal.

Wigan finished 5 points clear of Cas didn’t they? So I don’t think it would have made a bit of difference.

5 after the S8!... it's the regular season finish that deems how the S8 pan out to make a difference to the schedule of 7 games that gives the teams favourable ties. Wigan with home tie advantage over Cas and Wire ... 1 point above Cas at the end of the regular season.

2017 ,didn't Wigan just scrape into the 8 in front of Wire who finished up in the zone of death ? Not that we deserved to finish any higher than 9th ,we were poor in Smith's last season.

I havent seen the full transcript for this latest 'error' by Wigan. IF this transgression meant they spent over the cap and could be seen as deliberately hiding something then it should result in points deduction, but if it didn't then it really isnt that big a deal. We cant make it bigger than it is just because its Wigan. Had it been Wakey or Salford making a small error within the cap nobody would care
