Does anyone know how much of the cap he roughly takes up?

I just don't see why people rate him so much. He rarely ever seems to make a break, prone to errors, isn't particularly fast or strong, passing/decision making is very mediocre at times, tendency to run around in circles.

He reminds me a little of Sam Tomkins pre- injuries but without the blistering speed, and half the rugby brain. He is fairly allusive but doesn't have the power, acceleration to take advantage of it.

What are you crying about? If you want to win trophies, fullback is a massively important position. And Ratchford lacks that quality in the final third with his decision making and execution to make the difference against quality sides. He isn't the same league as the likes of Brett Hodgson, Sam Tomkins before he went to the NRL, Hardaker at Leeds, Barba etc.

Obviously if he isn't on big money is not as much of an issue. But we could certainly do better if he is.

Which was his bad game? I am going off watching him over the last couple of the seasons. He just seems prone to errors, is indecisive near the opposition try line, and gets puts on his back a lot when bringing the ball up.

Just my opinion. I think Lineham, Charnley and Goodwin have all been comfortably better in our backline than Ratchford this year. But it wouldn't surprise me if Ratchford on the most money.

Bit harsh lads. You can disagree but no need for the name calling. Ratchford does have his weaknesses. He does run around like a headless chicken, he does come up with silly mistakes, and although he can throw a good pass to put a winger in he can also have a case of nopassitus until he's ran himself down a blind alley.

Utter nonsense. Ratchford has been second only to Barba at full back this season and whilst Barba has decided to take his ball home Stef has maintained his form.

You either don't watch him enough or you dont know what you are looking at, Ratchford has been excellent this season and has been one of our best for a few seasons.

I wouldn't swap him for any other SL full back. Hill on the other hand...…….

Good troll-handling. Ratchford, the man who doesn't make breaks and admittedly came up with a few errors tonight, made one great clean break (no support), scored two tries and kicked 2/2 conversions.

Im with quickening...sorry he's not great! See attempt to get round fb tonight plus dg attempt against saints! Cr@p decisions are the absolute barometer between good players and great players. Been very good this season but, as usual, when really needed...poo!

He would have had support off lineham. He was running up and waa then tackled without the ball. Something else that the ref didn't see.

Just look at Cooper tonight - hands of e, penalties. Roberts - the invisible man in the first half. Brown knocking on on 1st tackle from scrum on Cas 10m.

Agreed. Brown's knock-on and Hill's woeful ptb were far more costly tonight. I like Price and think this will be remedied. Really hope Price drops Sita for Wembley too.

I believe Price will sort it out in time. Hes only been the the job for 29 games. We are a long way from the finished article. Having said that this is a much better season than I expected.

I am a great fan of Ratchford though i have never been a fan of him at fullback ,for one thing his kick returns never vary. I know we played a greatly weakened Cats team last week but i was impressed with Mitch Brown at the back.
Let's be honest here ,Mr Price has had very little input into this year's team & no pre season but has got us to Wembley which,win or lose we must be grateful for ,with a limited squad. Perhaps next season we will see Ratchford moved from fullback to the halves & see what he can do there.

I've always said he needs to be in a position where he can get his hands on the ball.
I would have slightly preferred him at 6 until this season. He's developed into the fullback role and I think he's most happy there.

Today the pack largely let the team down. No back can play efficiently went not able to roll of the front foot. That happen at Cas. I thought Patton did great coming on fresh withing 2 weakened teams but it was only time that his influence would also seccum to naught behind the beaten pack.

I was completely disappointed with Hill for the stupidest amass of penalties. If he falls into that attitude vs the big pack of Catalans, we'll too will be already beaten at half time.

But back on topic...Ratchford...? Not on enough for me. By far our best inside back.

I didn't see last night's game however Ratchford at FB works for me he's been great this season IMO safe under a high ball and when he joins the attacking line silky smooth. I think Price has other priorities successfully completing this year and raising the bar next
