| I'm sure that was announced ages ago as the football team plays Bournemouth at home on that day.

| Absolutely fuming about this.
Flights and digs all booked for the original date and no refunds with Ryanair.
Builth is correct regarding football being on the same day.
I checked that Sky had their fixtures sorted before booking but seem to have been undone by some idiot at the R.F.L. who can't get it right.
Are they not supposed to put all the fixtures through a computer before being announced and if the game is at a shared stadium is that not taken into consideration.

There is a new guy running the rfl now, and we know this guy can't do anything himself and employs someone else to do for him. The problem at this time is, he can't find the problem with a questionnaire this time!...he'll have to screw up first!

I'm sorry to hear about your 'flight plight', the change means that I can now squeeze this game in pre-skiing trip, but, as I'd reconciled not being there I'd preferred not have had this 'bonus' over your situation

Hi
2018 Fixtures were released on 1st November. Huddersfield Town announced BT intended to screen this game on [url=https://www.htafc.com/news/2017/december/town-vs-afc-bournemouth-live-on-bt-sport/22nd December[/url.
They would have had to put the fixture list into a Delorean rather than a computer to take this one into consideration.

| This unusual success that H Town FC are enjoying has certainly thrown a spanner in da woiks. But why does it have to be a change to Thursday, why not Friday ?
Aren't Huddersfield the team that won an FA cup game & "never" scored ?

| The recommended rest time before a football game is at least 48 hrs so Friday night isn't the option.

| Let me start by admitting that I am in a minority. However, living in Northamptonshire means a 280 mile round trip to the HJ. Sunday afternoon games allow me a leisurely day trip by train, often cheap fare with a mix of advance booking and senior railcard. I leave home late morning and can be back home in time for Sunday dinner. Thursday and Friday games give me far fewer bargain fares, plus no trains back after the game ends so I have to stay in Warrington overnight. Not a problem right now (I'm self-employed so I can handle it workwise) as my parents still live in the town. However, they are both well into their 80s so how many more years will they be around to offer me free accomodation? I have to say I also much prefer daytime matches. I have renewed my season ticket for 2018 but it will be a pain getting to home games. Leaving aside the personal plea, how many games against Yorkshire/Humberside teams on a Thursday/Friday night will see a vastly reduced away following? Bring back Sundays, please.

| Much prefer Sunday games. Don't mind the odd Friday, but not like we have now.
Can't see any sense whatsoever with cross Pennine matches in the week. They should be on a Sunday or even a Saturday.

| seems older people like sundays, younger people prefer Friday nights.
end of the day its on a Friday to stop sky moving home fixtures around. its suits the vast majority of species due to better atmosphere under the lights and with it being the end of the week can have a knees up and you're still keeping a full weekend (I've found that games on a Friday make the weekend seem longer, I get my rugby fix out the way early and I still get two days to myself with the family).
Saturday afternoons are no good due to a very large section of the sport across the country play the open age amateur game in which kicks off at half 2.
Sundays are the other option but after a Friday and Saturday Sundays are made for mornings doing odd jobs and chilling out on the sofa. Sunday afternoons had about as much atmosphere and a funeral in a library.
Thurday's are a pain in the rear if they're on the wrong side of the Pennines but other than that I've no issue. The club will never be able to please everyone but Friday nights are the best option for the majority.

I think this is right however wasn't the raison d'etre of Super League to be games played in the sunshine with all the family watching "the greatest game on Earth".
Also I remember plenty of decent atmospheres at 3pm, I don't think that's the reason it's flat as witches teet at the HWJ. Maybe Kiss Cam will change all that.

Precisely why I like the match on a Sunday. I used to be driven to distraction on Sundays in my years living in London before Fulham RLFC was born in 1981. I still reckon that if you took Sky out of the equation (I know you can't) most fans would prefer Sunday afternoons.

| I'm not totally convinced by this better atmosphere for night games theory. How often in recent memory have big 'potential atmosphere' games been given a Sunday afternoon slot.
Comparing homegames against Saints or Wigan on a friday night to Wakefield or Salford on a Sunday afternoon proves nothing.

| I don't think there's ewt worse than an evening fixture that isn't on sky. The whole experience is different again.

| Rugby League was always played on Saturdays going back over the decades from 1895 to the 1980s and i enjoyed those Saturday teatime games in early SL years the most.
I'm very envious of Catalan fans getting every home game at 17:00 on a Saturday!
