The one thing that concerns me is there is no explanation as to why he left Catalans half way through a two year contract.

I'd take a punt on him, we're crying out for someone to give us some real impact for 25mins a game, would be good spelling hill.

Toronto would seem a good fit for him though, Moi Moi can't go on forever and they'd make a big deal of the Coal Train marketability... is that a word?

If his head is in the right place and he wants to knuckle down for the rest of his career I'd take him in a heartbeat, inconsistency and a less than professional approach won't help us to be challengers next season (provided we come through the middle 8's).

Suppose choice of club next year will answer that question.

Hope so. Sims is a good club man but no more. Like with Penny, Evans, Patton, Gidley, Hughes et al we should be aiming so much higher it's actually annoying. It's akin to Man City continuing with the likes of Stephen Ireland when Yaya Toure was available.

Still yearning for the days when we had Carvell, Morley, Hill, and a half decent Paul Wood as up front options.

The current crop, Hill included unfortunately, have been woeful this year. Crosby is excluded from criticism though for obvious reasons.

We need people like Sims, we can't have a squad full of marque players due to salary cap.

Cas & Hull are doing well with just good club players but they are playing as a team at both clubs.

This is exactly it. When we sign players that Wigan are happy to release, and keep sub standard players that when they leave end up at Leigh or below, it is easy to see the problem why we struggle to compete with teams with better players.
