Sounds like more utter nonsense from the RFL. If they are zeroing the points after 23 rounds, what exactly is the point trying to finish higher once you are in the 8? The LLS is a nonsense, waste of time trophy that none of the big teams even try to win. Why make it worse by giving teams an incredible amount of dead rubbers?

All joking aside, I think any league competition loses credibility as soon as you start muddling it up with extra fixtures (magic weekend ), playoffs and finals, when the regular season has done the job of finding the best and most consistently good team already.

I really wish the RFL would stop chopping and changing the format. In recent times we have had no promotion/promotion, a top 5, top 8, top 4, team call.

What problem are they trying to solve with the current format that could not have been foreseen before they instigated it ?

I believe they are even suggesting starting Thursday night games earlier in the evening, probably so little Tommy can still get up for school.

Yeh that will work NOT travelling to or from say Hull for a 6.30 pm kick off just wont work for fans, even if they done it for more local sides you would still basically have ppl having to go straight from work, all to make little Tommy happy lol.

Ending the regular season after 23 rounds and starting the Super 8's on zero points? If you can't win the LLS and aren't in any danger of missing out on the top eight with four or five games to play, then what's the point?

Very harsh on a team top or near the top having to start on zero and on equal footing than a team who may just squeeze in the top eight.

The systems flawed now, it'll be even more flawed if these changes go through.

yes..i tell this to the footy brigade at work how leeds were champs when finishing 5th and we won the league that year and all we got was a shiny plate,,stupid was the responce well sumert like that

Why not make it a 23 match season. First past the post wins the title. Better quality games with more preparation time. No double weekends and time for proper international games.
Will ensure better player welfare and should improve the standard of the game.
Although not rocket science no doubt it will be shot down in flames

How do association football fans not understand it? Do they not watch ANY others sports? Because rugby league, the other rugby, Gridiron, basketball, field hockey, ice hockey, netball... leagues all over the world are all run with a play-off system. And even association football is in some leagues around the world including the Argentine league.

But by ing God do I wish the RFL would just stick with something. I'm sick to ing death of the constant changes. For me it's one of the primary reasons the sport has been going backwards. It's becoming a joke! I wish the RLIF would bring in a law that meant that league cannot change formats for a decade after a previous change.

Clubs need the revenue from gate receipts. 11 home games simply isn't enough.

Agree with this, I actually think the current system is quite good in terms of promition/ relegation and also rewarding good form through the season. The cynic in me wonders if it's got anything to do with wigan having no chance of making the GF then the rules get changed.
