If Smith survives this and then a defeat next weekend against Huddersfield, I think a number of the board should consider their position also.

I've paid for a family season ticket and this is making me ill. Not going to another game till Smith and co have left.

What's the inside knowledge? Is Smith going? Has Moran mentioned it to you in conversation?

I've been a staunch supporter of TS through the trials of this season, believing that most if not all of the players have failed to perform to anything like their abilities, and have compounded this with an arrogant belief that we are in a false position.

However, I'm now of the view that the inertia within the club, the apart indifference and blind-ignorance of the reality of our position, stinks of total contempt for the supporters and I'm heartily sick of it.

It is telling that the man only made one change to the 19 after losing 40-0 to a bang average Leeds side and that was a change forced on him by injury. Any other coach would have made wholesale changes, but not Tony 'we trained well' Smith.

The man doesn't have a clue anymore or just doesn't care. He (and the majority of the players) are taking the fans and board for mugs and are stealing a living.

He needs to admit Agar isn't the one.

Well that's the final straw for me. If we can't be bothered to train well then we might as well all just give up as that has been the one shining light this season.

Yes bang average. Don't kid yourself that you are any better.

It's the absolute contempt for the fans that is angering me, the assumption that we are thick and will swallow anything. Coming out with complaints already about Huddersfield having a week of and us not "getting our composure back from the Wigan game". It's clear to anyone who went to the game today that something is very, very wrong at our club.

We wouldn't mind losing, if its close, but we were embarrassed by Leeds (again).
What's worse is whipping boys of the league, Widnes beating Leeds a few days later.

We don't look likely to beat a rug at the moment.

The big problem for me is that over the season there has been no sign of real improvement to, (as Smith puts it), structures. Combine that with poor basic skills, no confidence and our key players underperforming, it doesn't look good or likely to change soon.

I really like Smith for everything he's done for our club, and it would be sad to see him go, but I don't think the ship can be turned around.

And this is a team that didn't even have a place in it for Ben Harrison.

Given that Catalans next two games are Widnes away and Huddersfield at home, then you can quite easily make a case for us being 5 points adrift by the time they come here.

Castleford away is a write off and Smith already had made good excuses for Huddersfield. The game on Sunday for me is must win, otherwise middle 8s almost a certainty

The cynic in me is starting to think there's a commercial element to Tony keeping his job for now.

It's clear that the current position and team performance will have an impact on season ticket sales for next year. However, sacking Smith now and bringing in a stop gap will not raise any excitement, i think the damage is done this season.

So, do the board wait until our fate is cemented, with only a few games left, THEN sack Smith, build excitement for the off season by getting a new coach in when there's nothing to play for and announce few key signings in the hope that it appeals to those who may walk away should things remain as is?
