Will he play next week?

at first glance, you wouldn't be expecting him to play, i hadn't heard anything about him being close to action, reserves or otherwise.

At second glance it seems as though its a bit like us palming grix off last year to make room for sandow coming, except wakey aren't bum last like last year and probably don't want/need a passenger who isn't gonna play during the super 8s.

When's the actual ACTUAL deadline for signings?

It's an odd one for me, not seen any sign of him being ready to play, as as already been said is it to make way for someone coming in??

I heard Anthony England is out for rest of season, but yet again as I already said I didn't hear he was ready to play.

He hasn't played any rugby at all since last September so I can not see him playing in a CC SF game next week.

As for making space, I thought the usual arrangement with loaned players was that the home club payed the salary, but the receiving club pick up the match fees (and perhaps travel /accommodation costs as appropriate) ? If so, he would still be on our salary cap. Perhaps this is just a simple case of Wire not requiring him for the rest of the season but happy to see him get some decent game time elsewhere ?

TS said on Radio Manchester last night that of our long term injuries Dodds was closest to being fit and he was at least 4 weeks away so this is a strange move. If they play him before that he either isn't fit or more likely not returning I guess because there is no way we would want him risked. Can't see why Wakey would want him just for the last two or three games.

Good move for Ben to get some game time so he can be right for next year with us I hope.
He's been around a long time but still only 28.
It'll take some time before he's back to the level he needs to be but I hope he can make it.

Could he be another Paul Wood great potential and start to his career blighted with injury mid career and gets a good run at his last few years

If what TS says on Radio Manchester is true (and I've no reason to doubt you as I didn't hear it myself) I find it totally incredible that Dodds is classed as our 'closest to return' from our long term injuries. The way he hobbles around the stadium on match days is awful to watch. He doesn't look anywhere near yet. Unless he always used to walk like a cowboy that's just dismounted his hoss! No such problems from Ben Harrison, though. I think you'll see him play before the end of the season. Wish the lad luck; missed seeing him in the fray this season, but don't think he's long for Super League.
