| I know there's still a couple of trophies still achievable this year and we're in a good position but i'd just like to hear peoples thoughts on next year in terms of additions / leavers. I think we've had a pretty solid regular season just lacking in some consistency.
For me;
Gidley,Lineham,Atkins,Evans,Russell,Ratchford (Not as a full back),Sandow,Hill,Clark,Sims,Dodds,Currie,Westwood,Westerman,Dwyer,Harrison,Penny and Cox all to stay.
Cooper coming back over from Aus.
Evans,Ormsby,Wheeler,King,Bailey and Hughes I would probably move on.
Would like to see us recruit a couple of big guys to give us some drive and meters. I think Hull's improvement this year has been due to the addition of an immense pack with some size. I'd like another winger addition and I hope the Callum Watkins rumour is true.
Thoughts?

King and Hughes will be going no where...... and nor should they.
Can't see Dodds staying. Think he will be wanting to return to Australia. ..... Hope I'm wrong though.
If Bailey continues as he has been I'd like to see him given another year...... Never thought I'd be saying that at the start of the season.

| May be wishful thinking on my part but I think the coach still expects big things from B Evans. Can't see why they would want to let Hughes go, and they don't seem to have concerns re either King. The Heightington (sp) rumour seems an odd one to me. AND I notice RD still hasn't fronted up on the supposed Sandow rumour?

Why would you want Hughes to go, for me he as been a good acquisition. Don't think Dodds will be staying I was hoping he may do but think he wants to go back.

| I can't say Hughes, G .King & Bailey have done anything wrong to be moved on , but i do think serious questions have to be asked about signing Dodds with such a serious injury & the logic of paying so much for Lineham who is not setting the world alight. Poor signings mean the scouts & management are falling down in their jobs .

| We need to give Lineham a chance. Daryl did not live up to expectations in his first year but look at him now.

| How on earth do you come to the conclusion Hughes king and baily should be released?? All have performed well this season, I'm not kings biggest fan but he is holding his own this season in the pack.
Lineham has room for improvement, I think that he shown desire in the Salford game, he ran ball back hard made some good tackles caused a knock on took his try very well but was also starved of any real opportunity to cross the line by a limited centre who cannot break thru the defence or draw them in to create space for him. He is not the fastest winger we have that on.the other side I like our balance on the edges in penny and Lineham if we're in our own half looking to break out wide penny is most likely to go the length of the pitch, up close to barge over the line tom is more suited to that. Play to the wingers strengths and we will see the best of both. But let's not fool ourselves both are prone to defensive errors. In a football comparison were criticising strikers for not defending well enough irrespective of the fact that they are scoring
Dodds is a tough one in his limited appearances he didn't let us down and that when hill n sims are off the pitch he was more than capable of holding his own and defensively looked very solid I hope we can keep hold of him as him and cooper to replace hill and sims with currie Hughes and westerman would surely give us one of best packs in super league bot to mention baily Harrison Westwood julien king and others for cover and rotating when needed but if he took the decision to return to Australia then that too us understandable it's possible tho that he may return if thevclub have treated him well and his rehab has been a success he may fancy another season.

| I'd be surprised if we had the cap room to keep hold of Dodds, with Cooper coming back, and if we did I think the salary could be better spent elsewhere
Breaking the squad down into its positions:
Prop: Hill, Sims, Cooper, Harrison as our main 4. With King, and hopefully Cox & Bailey is a very good group of props with depth - Westwood can cover here also.
Hooker: Clark & Dwyer are a great pairing, would like to see someone coming through at U19 level to offer injury cover though....
Back Row: Currie, Hughes & Westerman look a good set to take us forward for a few years. With Westwood, Laithwaite & Hopefully Julien as cover.
Halfs: Gidley, Sandow & Patton, with Ratch also able to cover is good
Full Back: Ratch with Russell & Johnson as cover is fine.
Wings: Russell and Lineham will probably start as first choice next year, with Penny covering.
Centres: Atkins has had a great year and King looks a talent if he can kick on. REvans while great in defense isn't offering too much going forward.
Ormsby is off and I'd be surprised if poor Wheeler got a new contract. If we do have the Dodds money spare on the cap I think I'd be looking at a right centre unless REvans can improve in that area during the Super 8's.

| It would be interesting to see how Lineham would perform outside a younger version of Bridge ,a player who could provide the vital passes.

We saw that on Thursday night. Perfectly good pass from Evans just after half-time and he dropped the ball with an open line in front of him. Evans seems to have lost his side-step, but his passing, both timing and accuracy, is first rate. Add his exceptional defence and he clearly deserves his place.

A pass in an entire game is the point being made.
Evans' effort or commitment cannot be faulted however he offers very little in attack 4 try assist and 3 trys is a pretty poor return for a super league centre.

No escaping these facts. It's a position we can improve upon I think.

| I would try & keep Bailey, King & Cox as replacement props all are relatively cheap on the Cap & do a good job as replacements for injury etc. But I don't think we will be able to keep Dodds with Cooper coming back. The enigma is Ben Harrison and where he will fit in, he wont get a back row spot with Ben C, Jack Hughes, Joe W & Benjamin all in front of him. Also Sam Wilde will be a year older and better.
1st Choice front row
Hill
Simms
Cooper
Ben Harrison ??
Dodds ??
2nd choices front row
Cox
Bailey
King
Super Ben
1st choice back row
Ben C
Joe W
Jack Hughes
2nd choice back row
Benjamin
Super Ben
James Latihwaite
Sam Wilde

| I think, whatever happens between now and the end of the season, this year has been a success.
We've improved on last season, we've had some record crowds and we've got a better team.
Surely there's optimism for a few years to come!

i think the crowds have tailed off in recent weeks, happy to be proved wrong, it may be down the tv night matches but attendances seem a bit down and i'd say the enthusiam of the start of the year has diminished somewhat. Even the bells and whistles of matchday seems to have gone a bit flat now after a good start.

A better year by far this year than last, what ever happens from now on in. The young lads did us proud, but, due to injuries and a bit of poor planning or over confidence we were over reliant upon them IMO.
This year we have more strength in depth across the park and we seem to have a younger outfit in many key positions overall

| It's definitely better than last year and we're certainly in.a better position squad wise.
One thing that's similar to almost every year is us losing games were expected to win comfortably, and a period of poor form. I know injuries play their part but I cannot help but feel we've squandered our fantastic start. But onwards and upwards!! We can still go on a good run and build momentum and confidence going into the super8s n playoffs.
With a pinch of luck some self belief and top draw performances we can still win all the bits of silver this year.

| The treble is still up for grabs and is still achievable for the Wolves,Hull FC and Wigan
On your day both the Wolves and Hull FC are fantastic and can rack up a big number on any side in SL
But when your both off you can lose matches that should be your bread and butter wins and the ones that stack up the league points
Wolves have lost games/Points in the last 8 rounds against sides that they should have picked up wins in at:
Wildcats (A)
Tigers (H)
Hull FC(H)
and drew away at Hull KR
IMO Wolves should have won each of these games and if they had of done they would have amassed a further 7 points
In the meantime Wigan have been steady away and haven't broken any pots thus far this season but the worrying thing for you guys is that we know how to win these winnable games,Wigan had a recent run of 6 consecutive away games and won them all

And a trophyless season for this group of player will not be a success. The pessimist in me thinks hull are nailed on for the cup and wigan will pip us to the big one. And then we'll all start talking about next year and have the mickey rightfully taken out of us by opposing fans. Let's get the bloody grand final won and get the monkey off our back.

Is this the same Wakefield team that beat you 62-0? I agree that in some of those games we should have done better and didn't - you might notice a theme on this board of being disappointed even when we win - but I think you might need to check your bias if you're going to make judgements like that
