| Are there any moments of sheer brilliance that you can recall from a Wire player over the years? As examples I'll give Langer stealing the ball off Tommy Martyn behind his own in goal to score, the look on Martyn's face was pure gold. Also Grix in a play off selling a kick to the corner only to leave Hardaker looking like a right melon after falling for it hook line and sinker, just that split second of shaping to kick to then come back inside and slide over under the sticks, sublime.

| Sorry to hog this post but the last match that Chris Hicks played for us was pretty magic. No one could have predicted what he would do that day.

Not sure if you're crossing your wires a bit but I do remember a solo try he scored against Hull or Wakefield in which he ran rings around half the opposition team, pretty much bumbling his way through the last person to see a free line at his mercy, that ended up getting try of the season, though that wasn't from his own line, more the 20m of his own half. It's on a certain famous video sharing site if you type in Brent grose try of the season.

| The first tackler (possibly actually Sid Domic) appears to have his scrum cap in hand, Tadulala watches him go through (twice), the full back tries a Superman tackles and no. 10 gets shrugged off really easily. Some nice movement and footwork from Grose but the defence is pretty awful.

| I think Brent Grose got a full length try against Widnes at Widnes & started off from his own in goal area. I think it might have been Chris Riley's debut for the 1st team.

| Brian Johnson in the 1986 Premiership final. Halifax took a drop-out from under their sticks, and put it a fair old distance, Johno took it from full-back, set off from a standing start and proceeded to waltz through most of the Halfax team without a finger being laid on him.

Superb try. Two sidesteps at full speed beat the whole Halifax team. Unfortunately the 'try of the season' award had already been decided.
Brian Bevan used to score tries like that almost routinely. Unfortunately I doubt we will ever see his like again. A complete, amazing one off

I am sure it was Widnes away the season we relegated them and scored around 60+ points in that game.

| The night the lights went out in 1993. on an October Monday (yes, Monday) night.
Step forward Johnny D, with one of THE best individual tries, ever.
Just go onto a certain video sharing website, and look for our tries for the 93-94 season (part 1), and it's about 3 mins in.
Rugby League pornography.
p.s. Phil Blake scored one similar, in the dying minutes of a Lancs Cup semi in 1985. Just a pre-curser of what he was able to do.

| Darren Burns kicking the ball dead and shouting 'have it' when winning the game that effectively kept us in Super League.
Pivotal.

Allan Langer taking the ball effortlessly from Tommy Martin Jr's hands while stood behind the try line and placing down in front off him.
And Tommy Martin appealing to the referee about it!
2.
The SL hub cap going "back in the box, it's going back in the box!"

| 2007 at home to Salford I think, Faafili makes a break , turns & looks to pass to Penny but instead without looking passes to Clarke on his inside who runs in to score - Quality!

If that pass had been made by a 'fans favourite' rather than Faafili, it would have been lauded as world class. Still one of the best 'no look ' passes I've ever seen.

| How about Solomona's pass behind his back ? I can not remember which match it was. I don't suppose it will be on many peoples list, but it was just so unexpected, totally outrageous, and seems to me to highlight something that we have lost in the ever increasing move towards a structured game. Solo may not have had a big impact on the Wire results, but he was a huge crowd pleaser.

| Possibly the semi v Catalan?
Anyway, you reminded me of the Solomona try at Leeds in 2011. Mickey Monas taking on the line and then flicking one out the back door for Sol. Magic.
