Well, I said to a mate a while back that we'll either win the GF or go out in week 1 to Widnes!

It's the play-offs. Irrespective of all the talk about the weekly rounds being meaningless these games ARE NOT.

Who cares if it's Widnes, St Helens, Kootamundra Warriors, the Papua New Guinean national team and whether we are home, away or on the surface of the moon, just do yourselves justice and let history take care of itself.

Widnes will be fired up because a). it's us and b). they are making their play-off bow. We need to be steady, cool, not get intimdated, sap their energy and let talent and experience dictate events.

Our home record is pretty poor anyway so if we're gonna have a home tie I'd prefer it to be against a team we pummelled at the HJ.

It makes sense that the game will be Saturday.

Give Widnes the 50 point treatment, beat Saints after they lose. Cas or Hudds would pick us. Dunno if that's right but sounds easy enough.

Let's get real, we are capable of both beating and being beaten by any of the sides left. Let's not assume that any team will be easy, even a 12 man Saints in their current state ran Hudds extremely close.

We will win, almost no doubt in my mind.

Playing on Saturday would give our players an extra couple of days to rest & recuperate. We could have Super Ben & Bridgey back for the following week.

I'd like to say we should walk this but I'm just not feeling it. When I see the 19 I'll know for sure, but my minds still set on our injury list..

Well Widnes seem to really get up of late for games against us, plus we will probably get Bentham again.

A team of our quality should easily beat Widnes at home.

Grix Harrison Westwood Bridge are all out and we've been inconsistent all season apart from that spell of 10 games mid season.

I also think the fact they've beaten us three of the last four times we've played them people think a bit negatively about playing Widnes.

However I think Tony Smith will take this one seriously and I think we'll win handsomely.
