| Underrated player in my opinion, worked his socks off. The only problem for him was that Mick Monaghan was a world beater, and the difference was night and day. Jon was great, but was made to look, in hindsight, very average by a first class player.
He has gone on to do a good job at Widnes, by some distance their best player last year. I would wish him well for the remainder of the season, but I can't will Widnes on, not even for you Jon.

| Here's another player like Pickersgill of doing 10 years across two clubs.
It would be fitting for Warrington and Widnes to offer them a joint testimonial...??

| I would have quite liked Clarke to stay around a bit longer, he wasn't just a hooker you could stick him in the back row and he could handle himself. He always put himself about and there was never any question that he was up for it. And a good player too, he should be pleased with his career!

| He was good and got better as he aged. never his biggest fan when he was playing from dummy half.
Gleeson Wood and Sullivan were much quicker at the play.

| A point in Clarke's favour was he was one of the players that was capable of playing well when the team wasn't.
One of the weaknesses in the current team is we have a few players that are like barometers for the team's performance, when we play well they tear teams apart, when we are under the kosh from another team they go missing.
Clarke, like Wood, Westwood and Briers, was one that could play well in a garbage team performance and be in good form when the team was getting beaten every week. (Grix, Hill and Waterhouse are in this category from the current team).

| Jon Clarke, the REAL person responsible for the kicking we gave Bradford bulls back in 2005, better known as the Chris bridge game

| Good luck to him but can't believe the love-in on here. The kindest thing I can say about him as a hooker is that he was 'limited'.

| I can't believe the love-in either but from a different perspective. A player who was actually and regularly booed by the neanderthals. I always thought his biggest problem was that he wasn't either Keiron Cunningham ( a once in a generation player) or a joker whose character appeared to be more important than his real ability.

How much ability did he have though? Not an explosive runner and ponderous with his distribution.

| Not going to be a hypocrite so i'll admit i never rated him. He was better when he played at loose forward as his kicking was half decent and he backed up well. But hooker is in my opinion the most important position on the field and his decision making and distribution can be best described as average. And can we please stop using the word servant for people who were paid a decent wage for doing their job(that goes for any player!)

| I didn't really rate him, and I felt Myler got left out of the 2010 cup final just so we could send Clarke on his way with a winner's medal, rather than because of any explosive form he'd shown. That said, he's impressed me more with his distribution since playing for Widnes.

| I thought he shouldn't have played rugby ever again after that assault, and this is from someone who went to school with him.
