Rubber Duckie you can have some fun with folks on here for the rest of the season now.
Every time we lose you can post on every thread that we should have had Bridge at 6 and if we'd had Bridge at 6 we would have won. If they don't believe you cite the game where we hammered an understrength Doncaster team.
If you want you can join my Monaghan at 7 campaign. Evidence: when we bossed Leeds at Wembley.》
I'm not after brownie points SC. I thought about not saying anything but some on here need to wake up and smell the custard.
I have no doubt in my mind that Bridge, at best, in selected selective games, has shown he is one of the finest backs we've had in years...WHEN HE WANTS it we mince teams. That is the biggie though...Does he want it enough and can we keep him injury free at such an important role?
I said it earlier, All I want to see is Warrington settled and winning or losing with effort and pride.
Yes it was Doncaster under strengthen but you can only play what is in front of you.
The front row bossed and Bridge ripped it up. Like morrisseyisawire said, would Ratchford or Myler have done better?
I too doubt it.
We've tried every combination including with Monaghan round the frigging bushes over and over, we needed something different even if it was throwing Chris Hill in at HB as someone quipped to make a point, and you know what I would have even backed that notion if it happened, because it was radical and different. I've seen enough to suggest our future isn't with combinations of Myler Ratchford GOB and Monaghan.
I think Bridge may well get another chance at Bradford and defeat there would be unacceptable in the face of things, and may well point to whether we need a playmaker brought in or trust in Bridge.
I still doubt if Bridge rips it up again that Smith would leave him there, but it at least will give him added confidence to perhaps make a radical switch during a game if one of the backs has put in a stinker. It puts pressure on the starting backs to perform from the start too because of the threat that if they don't, TS can now bring them off at any time and change the combination with Bridge.
I think that is just the big kick up the backside that the fore mentioned backs need and confidence the forwards need to know.
I'm not taking pleasure from a gloat as you see my posts are about what could be and what happened in front of our very own eyes. Don't look to undermine, support and have faith. I think we have just found the key to unlock a closed door to a surprising and heart warming season.

| I remember Blythe ripping Wigan apart in the centres once.
Rhys Williams had a good game once
I've seen Atkins put his winger in.
I've seen Bridge go a whole game without giving away a penalty
I've seen Mike Cooper beat a man with his side step
I've seen Hodgson burst a tackle
I've seen Myler find space with a deep kick
I've seen a full length Joel Monaghan try

| The problem with Bridge has never been his ability to raise his game.
He is inconsistent (sometimes due to his injury past, but not always) and it isn't like his big games always coincide with important games for the club.
Moreover he has never shook his impetuous side which makes him an easy target for the opposition. As such making him the linchpin of the side is never going to be anything other than a gamble.

| So far there has been one proven significant change this year.
Bridge fixing the inconsistent goal kicking issue.
There are questions marks over Bridge at 6 but I'm willing to let him have a go. Perhaps he can prove that this 2014 TEAM is also fixed.
1 or 2 of you on here wanted some change...you know who you are. You knock us when we're down and now you knock when we're up.

as much as you mean that as tongue in cheek, it's also worth a daft couple if quid at his odds.
If somehow we're able to continue with this and then go on and win the CC and grand GF, it'll be down to Bridge that we did it or a hostile signing of Danny Brough!

| Lets face it the Doncaster Game the forwards laid a platform that anybody could have had a field-day at Half back , Bridge however took the chance and excelled.
Looking at the Widnes game it was the same and GOB took the game to them.
We need a stable forwards pack who can dominate and leave room for our halves to get into the game.....
I would play Bridge at 6 next week if he can keep this form or fitness

| Have some variety in your life Dita.
I know its smell the coffee but James Stannage got up the noses of 95% of his listeners too and used the phrase smell the custard.
A very popular show he had. Got loads of messages and got me through evenings shifts. Perhaps I should just not raise issues to highlight debate and imagination in your return posts and just follow the party line....well played wire....hard luck wire....good luck wire....yawn..zzzz

Stannage was a muppet. All he did was attention seek and he craved controversy, and make jokes about tragedies. Why do you think he's no longer on proper radio and he's got online radio instead? Because there are no restrictions for him to spout the bile he's been doing for years.
The only decent thing about him is that he hates Pete Price almost as much as I do.

| It was only Doncaster
I suggest we discuss this when Bridge has ripped Wigan Saints and Leeds apart and is playing at 6 for England. Until then it's best left alone.

I used to enjoy Stannage's football phone in on Piccadilly 1152 in the 1990s.
He used to have this bloke ring up called Paul Nolan who had the thickest Manchester accent ever but hated United with a passion, I think first he supported Arsenal then he converted to supporting Leeds. He could run rings round Stannage.
Problem was when he was talking about issues other than football Stannage was just a rentagob who tried too hard to shock through being offensive and thought he was cool by being controversial. I think the internet killed Stannage because messageboards took away his football audience.

| It was a final court case that Piccadilly finally sacked him.
His show was good and still full of people who found a new media...texting in.
I think Stannage kept banning Nolan and still kept letting him back on I recall.
It did get a bit stale at the end though....he became obsessed with the illuminati every night.
Happy nights.

| Would appear that Bridgey will be revisiting the scene of one of his finest 80mins in a Wire jersey in the self-same position ............. TS all but confirmed Chris will start again at Bradford at half-back and the jersey is his to lose at the minute.
This particular pocket of the internets gonna be chocka block with "Bridge - I told you so" posts of one type or another.

I'll let Bridge take bragging rights if he earns them.
Although it was Doncaster, Bridge still put on the most satisfying display we've had at hb this season.

How strange. Was just thinking about James yesterday. We had him on BBC Radio Tees way before he went to Piccadilly, he got sacked from there too.
