Let's be brutally honest here. Only 1 team can win SL and even at our pomp we never managed it so your not doing it either. At this moment in time it's hard to look past Saint's, Leeds & that other shower who play in their football ground.

I'm not having a dig at Wire, though it my seem.

You certainly look a side in decline and have done ever since Saints thrashed you on the opening night of the season. Your coach has a tough job on his hands to turn it around. Though Smith still has some quality players at his disposal.

With us being the better side thesedays, we are licking our lips at inflicting more misery on Wire in the coming derby. I expect a fairly straight forward win.

I am now firmly ensconced in the belief thst we definitely need a halfback from outside the club bringing in.


We need someone with a voice who isn't afraid to people and boss them about.

The club and coaching staff have been caught with their pants down big style.

They took a gamble on certain players stepping up to the mark and leading us into a new era, they took a gamble on certain players having one good year left in them and they took a gamble on allowing a glut of experienced players to leave at once.

This may be a transitional season, but transition suggests some forward planning and the hope of tangible progress - this feels like a decline.

New booker, half back and two props needed.

Tonight was horse excrement. A 13 point gap in the scores definitely flattered us. I've not been so urinated off, leaving a ground, since our nadir of 2002.

Do we HAVE to pass the ball so much, when we're in the opposition's half. As soon as we've got the ball, it's being passed like it's burning the players' hands. Now I'm not advocating 5 one man drives, just not this "I've got the ball, now you have it, then you, then you". Use the ball intelligently, don't just fling it about for the sake of it. RESPECT POSSESSION.

JMonaghan just didn't want to know tonight. Summed up when he "messed up" on that kick chase at the end, and spent the next 10 seconds sat on his 'arris, thinking "woe is me" while his team mates were trying to stop a try being scored.

Rested

Frighteningly ,Widnes beat us last Easter with a much worse squad than they have this year & the players on show tonight were just as much part of our first team squad as the ones sat in the stand. We seem to have no structure whatsoever ,just a bunch of individuals with seemingly no game plan. HKR don't have any great players but they played as a team which they have been coached to do.....what are our coaches doing ? Overall Myler had a good game tonight but all his kicks seemed to be going to Evans's wing & it looks like Joel has lost the provider of many of his tries with the loss of Briers.
It seems like the coaching staff need to roll their sleeves up ,identify the weaknesses & get back to basic rugby ,because like it or not we are stuck with these players for the foreseeable future.

What's interesting is that the players named above, and I'd agree with the assessment of them all, have now been at the club some time. So has Myler, who was ok (though I do have higher expectations, or I used to, than "ok"icon_wink.gif and Grix.

And perhaps more pertinently, so has Tony.

I'm now of the conclusion that TS is too close to certain players, and that the core of the squad are basking in the glory of recent success. Sadly, it is yet to dawn on them that this success was gained largely on the abilities of players no longer playing for the club.

What is equally alarming is that the soundbites coming out of the club would embarrass Emperor Nero and stink of apathy, delusion, arrogance and collective self-denial.

With the amount of rubbish you've posted on here recently, I find it difficult to believe.

But, I guess posting bile on the Warrington forum gets you off. Each to their own.

Ah well if Tony says we weren't far off and that he can't fault anyone for effort, then I guess everything is still rosy huh?
