I did think that for the Leeds game but he was so poor it comes to a point when you wonder how many chances he should get for some shocking performances.

On reflection, people can be rusty at the start of the season, we've played two good teams as our openers I'm inclined to say, play him on the premise this is his last chance, have a stinker and you're going to be playing at the LSV for a while.

Give him a game or two or the rest of the season at Swinton, poor for the last 18 months now. Evans in at centre, the lad deserves his shot he was brilliant in pre season.

As a test I'd agree with this. If he can't cut it against London then we have a serious issue with him. He was very good at one point as we know, but he has gone bad over a long period and the coach has stuck with him. Smiths faith must be running very low by now. Another angle would be to play Ormsby at Centre and Penny on the wing at London as a trial game for those two.

Simple fact is, he knows his performances have been poor for a while. We have a ready made replacement (Evans). No person in any sport should be undropable.

I'd play him on the basis that he will play himself back into form. Keep the faith.

It looks like TS has been doing this for a while now and its not working, give him a few weeks to gather his thoughts and refresh. In that time we may unearth a real gem or the rest does Atkins good and away we go again. Doing nothing is incompetance.

He had a shocker, yes. But he is the only one of our team that you could see go 100m to score, and I think he just needs one of those. In 2010 and 11 I think he over achieved, he's never been the best player in the world, just got on a good run and confidence was flowing.
As soon as that has dried up, he's found it hard to get back into the cycle.

He wasn't bad last season, but wasn't great. I just think that he needs to make a break and just hare for the line. Problem is the more he tries and fails, the harder it will become for him, he just needs an easy one or a chance where he needs to act on instinct rather than having time to think and mess it up. Put him in, keep him in, play for August and beyond.

We have just seen Riley finally dropped after almost a year of poor displays, it would be hypocritical not to now drop Atkins, who has also been poor for a while now... so its a yes for me. It Rhys Evans is fit he would go straight into my team next to Ormsby.

Evans (Rhys) does make it interesting... it seems that we've been talking about his inevitable breakthrough for a bit too long now.
