I've been thinking about this topic, but I thought I would wait until out of season.

A Warrington select team from throughout our period we consider didn't set the world on fire.

Many times we've had our all-time best, but I don't recall us having the flip side.

I would ask you please NOT to select current squad members, and please do not slander as some may well be regulars to the boards.

Copy paste and enter your positional wire player. Feel free to add another name in place of one entered, only if you consider him to be of a lesser standard, then add the removed players name into the subs bench.

You cannot remove the name unless you have one to replace.
That way we can build the team together.

I'll start you off, its not as easy as you think, as I've tended to forget the bad memories!

Its not a race and we don't have to fill every space, team ethics required on this.

For Barbedwire

I try not to think about it for the sake of my psychiatry bills, but you could probably pick any starting 13 from the Anderson era. I still think his period in charge was an elaborate April fool concocted by Wigan & Saints.

However, I've seen players who were abysmal, clueless, incompetent and a danger to society but the one that springs to mind as the ambassador of awful, the duke of dire was Mr Don "Mad Dog" Duffy. He was like an Australian, heavily bandaged Frank Spencer minus the endearing qualities.

Honourary mention to Mark Jones as well. Built like George Foreman, he had the threat of George Formby. He'd have gone down a bomb in the current Huddersfield pack.

I was waiting for someone to come up with wedge. Putting his loyalty to the cause aside, he was like Ellery Hanley compared to some of the dross we've seen mentioned on here, and he'd probably still get in any championship team.

Sorry, never a fan and never will be.

If Wainwright had this squad around him back then, he would have been playing for England not Scotland!

Great player, great vision.
People tore pieces out of him as people tore pieces out of John Fieldhouse before him.

Fieldhouse moved on to Saints and shut the knockers at Warrington up.
Playing for GB and knocking Wire out of the challenge cup with a peach of a pass!

Wainwright stayed at the club he loved and perhaps lost his chance to shut his knockers, moving too late and to too poor of a team.

Mikes mam and dad, huge wire fans, had to stop going the games.

they would stand with the fans and have to listen to abusive taunts aimed at there son.

Shame on them.
