Normally wouldnt bother me if he played against as its not with other players but given we struggling in the halves just i dont think it would be good idea to let him play for saints.

Can't come soon enough. Should have happened weeks ago. Is it written into his loan contract that he won't play against us? (a la Hock) or is he able to if fit? I'll be furious is he's allowed to play against us when we are struggling so badly for halfbacks.

Warrington are his club, Saints are a club who used to be successful who need a few ringers to shore up their squad.
If he's recalled now (as he should be), I suspect he'll start most games for the rest of the season. |

Myler is out, Briers didn't play the other night and Monaghan and Ratchford aren't half backs. For 42 minutes against Widnes we had no halfbacks on the pitch, we looked like the team with a man less. We need O'B, now! |

Maybe he'll get us to Old Trafford single handedly, kicking Saints to death next round, a last minute penalty from the halfway line at catalans to win the game, destoy Wigan twice in the playoffs with majestic skill only seen by the likes of Johns. Then we drop him for the fnal Briers and Myler play at 6&7 and he signs for Saints for 13 years of mediocrity.

spot on this post, tonys plan lets call it d in terms of first choice half backs is not going to cut it vs the top teams. Gaz has had a few decent games by all accounts at Saints. Lets bring him back home now!!! |

agree with this, mike Monaghan been an exceptional signing but he tried a few games at half back when we first signed him and it didn't really work as well as hooker does.
for me obrien and briers would work well together as unsure if Richie will be in contention due to injuries |

Who say's he isn't rated? Smith just sees that for now, there are better players ahead of him.
I've not seen enough to make judgement yet, He's certainly promising.
Wouldn't be surprised for next season to see Ratchford at FB, Briers and Myler as the main halfs with O'Brien getting more game time. That might tell us if he's really good enough.
Briers probably has one more season so it'll be do or die for Gaz. |
