So the stadium have give us permission to get some flags put up at the south stand behind the
Fans permantly. This will make the hj a bit more homely as the south is a very miserable dull grey
And always has been. This is a great chance for us to get a bit of colour behind us and to make an
Impression on other teams an our own fans

Anyone got any that they might want putting up. The stadium manager is even willing to go out of
Way and get them fire certified if any need doing. We just need to know who has got one that wants them putting up
There. And if its cheap and tacky, leave it at home as we want proper flags and not bed sheets haha

Will you put up a "Smith Out !" flag, you know since they're going up, as we might eventually need it.

Or a tear off series of flags that say "Grand Final Winners 13 / 14 / 15 / 16 etc " just in case one day .....

Could have one like united had for city for the last time saints won a trophy with a rolling number each year

Yeh thats the onli time they will have to come down but thr stadium are gonna put them u themselves we just have to let them know where we want each one to go an they will do the rest.

And they will take them down for the appropriate events an then get em back up. We need a few up in timenfor wigan. And dont worry about wigan they wont get anywhere as its a footy ground too an they play in blue and white so dave whelan wont allow it. Once we get a couple up hopefully it will spread an people will come together and get more up

Bit of both really. I genuinely think what you are trying to do is great. I do know what Facebook is, but I don't have an account so I can't view the group.

Ahh well it's there for others to join if they are interested anyway. That's the thing, ultimately we want the whole stand joining in but we know some go to the game and want to do different things. The only way we see it is for all those who want to join in to come and congregate in the same area.

Let's keep it pro-Wire, eh? Strikes as a bit sad that people have a chance to go and pay for and get made a really nice Wire flag but would rather spend their money on something Widnes or Saints orientated.

I'm thinking lots of Primrose&Blue and some white with P&B writing. Also how about being original and not having loads of St George's flags up like anyone else would.

We have a good base for this; i work with a Saints fan who is very jealous that we have our standing vocal stand along the side of the pitch like we to at the HJ. As the commentary gantry is above the Wires in the South Stand so the noise we can make can be heard loud and clear on tele'.



A bit off topic but does anyone know if we can rename the South Stand? It's a very bland and faceless name. Something like the 'Buckley Street Terrace' or something to that effect; something that fans can identify with and feel part of. "South Stand" means nowt, 90% of sporting grounds in England have a stand called the "South Stand". We could call it "The Buck'" as a nickname or something.

I would imagine they'd prefer the sponsors name rather than 'the south stand'

I'm not sure how true this is but I once read that as part of the Taylor report, all stands must be identified by their location, to help emergency services. United certainly changed the name of their stands. Liverpool never did though, so that's why I have doubts about it. Perhaps it only applies to new Stadia. I know at City they have the Colin Bell End but I'm sure the office names for the stands are North, East, South and West.

Saying all that, I'm sure the Taylor report was just recommendations.
