| Regarding the extra man and Salford....didnt we lose a game against Bradford (IIRC) when they had an extra defender on the pitch. Was it just for one play but it was a play where the extra man was directly involved in the play.

| Very interesting that it's him that should bring it up. Clearly wants to talk about it - I wonder if it's a general broadside against Salford for something that's happened or is happening behind the scenes. Thought TS and Noble were on good terms but perhaps it goes higher than Nobby...

| Not quite sure why he has gone on a rant about the 14 man incident, nothing to do with us really. He doesn't seem a fan of Koukash that is for sure. Need to read the transcript again but I agree with what he is saying about someone should be offering a direction. I hope Barwick will step up and be that man.

The Bradford game was a draw, and he came on when we were attacking their line, for only 1 tackle, and wasn't involved. Think it was 18-18, and Varkoulis had his best game for us - remember the South Stand singing Lesley is a girls name for a while - he did find it funny tbf.

| He's just advocating strong Leadership from the top of the sport...in everything....the 14 man thing was used as an example of weak leadership....flimsy.
The game needs to listen to the likes of Tony...he knows what he's talking about!

He's pointing out the fact that they fined Salford ten grand rather than looking them in the face and taking the points off them.
Do you think they would've coined them for so much if they didn't have a rich backer? Saints got fined hundred quid when they did it. Why the disparity?
Also, I don't see why Salford were punished, it's the 4th officials fault

| Didn't we scored a couple of tries last year on the 7th tackle?
Wonder if the same mindset would be applied to any points gained outside of the normal rules that were missed by the officials.

That is what I thought, but apparently according to the laws it is the trainers responsibility to count players on/off the field ,the interchange official is only responsible for noting it and giving them the piece of paper.

We scored one and Thierry Alibert got dropped for a few weeks. my thoughts on that were that either the linesmen or the fourth official were also responsible and one of them should have reminded Thierry.
In this case the fourth official is also culpable, unless Salford simply sent the man on as a matter of course without waiting for permission.

That may be the law, i've always seen that the player has 'exited' the field before the replacement enters, usually via the 4th official, the only differences being for injury where someone is being carried off by trainers, or drop outs where players run around the back of the dead ball line but the 4th off stands and escorts him back to the dug out.

That was cancelling out the mistake against Huddersfield away earlier last season when we had a set with only 4/5 tackles and Huddersfield scored on the next set IIRC!

| Wow.
I found that really interesting - honestly.
TS certainly wouldn't be inviting the trade unions to tea to decide policy as in the 70's.
More like a 'Thatcher at the helm' !!
He does make some very telling statements about not just the game and how it's run but also about what he wants to see from a leader.
I'd love to read a management / leadership text book written by him.
I don't always agree with him but I certainly respect his point of view and for what it's worth I remain to be convinced that the talked about restructuring is the right thing to do.

| loads of great points but this for me is what the RFL should listen to more than anything: "We are judging the current systems in the midst of the worst economic crisis since the great depression. We are in the worst economic climate for decades and yet now is the time we are choosing to judge our current systems."
I believe if we asked those fans that didnt turn up yesterday what the reason was most would come up with other various reasons other than actually saying times are a bit hard and they have less money and were glad of saving a few quid..... and thats the harsh truth.
People are actually spending less on food than they used to ...thats FOOD for gods sake..something we need to have to survive.
how can we expect people in one of the less affluent regions of the country to rock up to rugby games every week regardless of the Structure.
I watched the red button show after the Leeds huddersfield game and I'm sure Nigel wood works hard and He loves rugby League but he is quite frankly an idiot. and Mark Chapman Made him look like one too...
Incidently jonathan Davies apart I though the BBc coverage of that game was Excellent and "Chappers" looks like he's been presenting rugby League for years.....

| Hasn't Koukash been suggesting that we are using various means to (ahem) stretch the salary cap? That might explain the finger pointing back at Salford.

His suggestion was that other clubs were flouting the Cap, so he was going to do it openly because he had the money to do it. He has already been warned off doing this.
Nigel Wood seems to be obsessed by the word 'innovation.' my suggestion is that we keep things as they are with the exceptions that at the end of the 2014 season we revert to 1 up and one down with a parachute payment, and that we make the LLS worth winning by giving it some decent prize money.
Oh, nearly forgot, get rid of the club call, no-one likes it and it's counter-productive.

Did he not implicitly or explicitly suggest it was our club in particular doing this?

No. He said various clubs but let's be realistic, he's not accusing the likes of Cas.
