We didn't do too badly the last time we had him against Leeds. (6-42).

I noticed Hock ran forward and lost the ball prior in the build up to the first try and also noticed Trent Waterhouse knocked the ball backwards towards his own try line. Child's never noticed these! You watch there will be penalties galore for players being offside at the play the ball. It amazes me how when a game is on Sky the refs go OTT however, when its not on TV the refs switch off to it. Silverwood didn't give a monkeys on Monday.

| Simple fact is, they're ALL 5h1te.
And don't give me any of that "OHHH, Ganson's not that bad"....he's e. He just does it in a pompous "look at me"manner.
I don't know why we have a weekly "and the ref for the weekend, is" thread.
The OP gives us the info, then the next 20 entries are
"well that's us ####ed then"
"oh no, not 'im"
"he gave us nowt, last time" etc.
All current RL refs in this country are crap. The TJ'S are doing little more than running up and down the sides, and putting their flags up for convertions.
Why is it that TJ'S can't spot a metre forward pass, but the rest of can. Take that Wigan v Widnes game a couple of weeks ago, there was a couple of tries early on, with passes that would get an American Footballer tumescent. Even Phil Clarke was embarrassed to silence.
Whether we have a controller of refs or not (since tosspot Cummins has gone), the refs and TJ's need to start doing their jobs PROPERLY.
We had better refs, back in the day when you saw some of the most "bent" reffing ever. Those of a certain vintage of 80's RL, will know who I'm referring to

Couldn't agree more. Incidentally, if anyone thinks Ganson plays to the camera they clearly never saw John Holdsworth in action. That fella made Jordan look positively shy and retiring, and probably wore more make-up on camera as well.

As much as it still irks me, I don't regard Russell Smith penalising Cullen as cheating. It was a bad decision, but not cheating.
The Hull game you mention though... well, perhaps it was because I was only about 11 or 12, but I still regard that as, at least, suspicious.
I've since read that Billy Thompson was granted an official position at Hull shortly after, but whether that is accurate or true I don't know.
But this thread is about Sunday and James 'Emmerdale Paramedic' Child. (One for your next YouTube trawl.)
At some point there'll be the need for a Video Ref decision.
Child blows his whistle.
Waits for camera.
Flicks his hair off his forehead with a thespian flick of his hand.
Draws a dramatic square in the air.
Slowly and deliberately delivers the script to Ian Smith in a voice that carries all the way from the stage to the back of the theatre.
Wipes away a non-existent bead of sweat with his wristband and adopts cool and collected pose.
And each time I almost expect him to take a bow and ask Eddie "is that a wrap?"
