| So we haven't played a 3 pm on a Sunday game =#FF0000at home since the season opener against Cas.
And we're not scheduled to again until Sunday 28th of April against Bradford (possibly the week before depending on Challenge Cup draw).
What does everyone think? I love my 3pm on a Sunday rugby. Nice chilled routine get up, Full English breakfast, Few pre match beers, The game then a couple of beers after and home to a nice Sunday dinner...
Contrast this with a Friday night game... Beg somebody for a shift swop or Boss for early finish.. Failing this rush home through rush hour traffic, very quick shower, Run out still eating my tea, Time for 1 beer (if i'm lucky),The game and usually im so tired i'm straight home after..
I understand the theory that Friday games free up your weekend and some even say the Friday night games are a better atmosphere, i don't really agree i've always thought the atmosphere depends on who we're playing and how many away fans attend...
Just interested on everyone elses take on it..

| For any Friday night games I attend I need to leave home early afternoon to make sure I get over the M62 before the rush hour traffic. For Sunday matches I can leave about noon and get to Warrington in plenty of time. I actually prefer Friday night games though, a few beers before the match and a night out to discuss the match afterwards.

| Suits me to a tee. I've been at Dewsbury v Leigh this afternoon. Good game! Would be good if a few more of our fans started supporting Leigh or Swinton when there isn't a clash.

| I adored all games on a Sunday (pre 1990)
Sleep off Sat night's hangover.
Sunday dinner
Couple of cheeky uns in that dump, The Causeway (they used to show last week's game) pre match (substitute a different pub in a different town for an away match)
Go to Wilderspool/away ground
Tea, then town to finish the weekend off.
All this Friday/Saturday/summer RL is a pain in the derrier, BUT, Sky pay the club's wages.
We have to live with it......................bummer.
I'd really HATE IT, if we changed our non Sky games to a Friday night, a la Worriers, Stains, Salford etc

| Yeah Sunday afternoons are best. Couple of pints of hair of the dog in the Bulls Head, then walking over Wilderspool Causeway with the crowd, banter then home after the match and out to the Feather to compare notes and squeeze the last drops out of the weekend.
These days I am the divorced father of a 14-year old who steadfastly refuses to embrace RL so Sunday's are impossible for me to attend so Friday nights are best - rushed yes, but the atmosphere is usually good.
Hopefully my daughter will soon the see light (or clear off to uni) and I can wake up with that special, Sunday morning feeling (no, not that feeling) again.

I would just like to point out that the above is my memories of Sunday games of old - if I do get a Sunday afternoon free I dont wander over to Wilderspool and wonder where the heck everyone is.

| I'd agree that night games have a better atmosphere but Sunday at 3pm is what it should be if we're not on the telly. In fact I think it should be the rule that everyone who isn't on the telly should play 3pm Sunday (like it is for football on Saturdays). Sunday is better for attendances (especially away fan numbers) and I don't understand the thinking for clubs playing Friday nights (especially against a team from across the penines).
Having the Hudders game on Friday night is fair enough though given that we're fairly busy the following weekend. Night games are often more social (a few pints after) whereas Sunday games seem more chilled.

| Sunday Afternoon every time......during the wilderspool days a couple of nice and easy pints pre match in the Riverside, (and after it closed, the waterside). then the HJ days in the bulls head sat looking over the bowling green talking rubbish and puting the world to rights....
its what summer rugby is all about, taking your time, soaking it all up, watching the Rugby with a bit of sun on your back, and enjoying those pre and post match pints with the same sun casting a shine on your ice cold Carling...mmm
Friday nights always involve rushing around like a blue Arsed fly.
and all this "oohh people then have Sundays to themselves"....NO NO NO people then have Sundays to visit the In laws and be force fed ten ton of sunday roast ....
PLEASE KEEP SUNDAYS SPECIAL.....SUNDAY KICK OFFS, UNLESS ON SKY

| Sunday is best for me. I live in Cambridge so watch Sky Friday & Saturday and listen to Online Radio when Wire are playing. Last Friday I watched Leeds v Wigan and listenned to Wire game (via earpiece from laptop) at the same time. My brain though always gives the Wire match priority and I don't get so much fun from the match on TV.

| I like both....Fridays are ideal for a good sup after the working week, then a few after the match to decect whats happened.....
Sundays, for me, i cant do that as i work, so i pretty much have to go straight after the match, but saves me cash on ale. So there are pros and cons from my point of view.
I agree with others in terms of atmosphere, i dont think its neccesarily when the game is, its more to do with the opposition......these being your Wigans, Saints and Leeds of the world, these games are very unlikely to be untelevised, thus 3pm Sunday.......So from this point of view, it maybe perceived that the Friday games produce more atmosphere (hope i made sence then!!).
If it wasnt for the fact its Easter weekend next weekend, the Hudds game would be on a Sunday at 3pm. Im sure both sides will be glad of the extra couple of days rest before 2 games in 4 days.

| I enjoy the variety of an occasional Friday night or Saturday night game but don't like them being week in week out. Much prefer Sundays as our regular slot. And Friday nights for any cross-pennine games are just stupid.
I firmly believe ALL non-TV games should be 3pm Sunday apart from London and Catalans which should be Saturdays.

Is that occasional games on sky only then? Bit of a contradiction in saying that you enjoy games on friday or saturday and but that all non-tv games should be sunday at 3pm. What about this week when we play friday to give the players a full 7 days to recover before widnes on good friday and london easter monday?

| If it's Wigan, Saints, Wire, Widnes and Salford all playing each other on Fridays i'm all for it.
But if above clubs are having to go to Hull it makes more sense for a Sunday or Saturday kick off.

| Sundays get the vote from me! used to love going to the old wilderspool ground, strolling over the causeway bridge going the sunday games-,( staggering over it on the way back- )-used to be a great set of mates ,having a few beers in the old ball, watching the game from the fletcher st end/railway end (,then bottle bar at half time before swopping ends! then off to the offy nr the ground and going into the park nxt to the mersey, sinking a few more beers waiting for the old ball to open at seven on sundays! happy days! i find hardly any atmosphere at the halliwell compaired to those sunday games at the old ground! in fact i now prefer to go away games as i find better atmosphere amongst our travelling fans the the home ones!and fri games are a no no for me im afraid! sundays are ( imo ) made for a day out watching wire!

Not contradictory at all! I accept TV games will be on Fri/sat nights and enjoy them - but I don't like non-TV games being Fri/Sat. I'm willing to accept the odd other, like the game week before Easter or Easter itself as you point out - but other than that I wish all non-TV games would be Sunday.
