No, Laithwaite has come through the scholarship / academy route at Wire. In fact he played for the Warrington Service area U12's along with Gareth O'Brien.

That's the one. Absolute beast IIRC.

He is 6' 2'' and over 15 stone. He didn't make the England Academy side last year though. I have not seen him play this year.

it's known as a case of the Mark Jones after the erstwhile RU convert, to denote a forward with all the attributes i.e:- tall as a telegraph pole, thighs the size of a small country and shoulders so wide that they look like he's left his hanger in his shirt, but who, alas, couldn't break a Neil Kenyon tackle.

Apologies for those who don't remember Krafty Kenyon - suffice to say, size wise, he was no Lesley Vainokolo but he could shift bless him.

O'Brien had a good run in the team last year where he played very well. Hopefully he can get another few games under his belt in order to give Brett a rest and for Ratch to gain some game time at fullback. O'Brien is a clever player and alongside Myler it will be great to see if they hit it off.

Well if the Ratch Myler GOB threesome is the starting 1,6,7 then we'll get a little glimpse into the future. Hopefully it gels and we just get Cam Smith instead of Benji
