| Best bet is to get anything from Central to Deansgate, then get a tram to Old Trafford from there.

It says on the other thread no trains are running from Piccadilly to OT today.

| Went for the train from Padgate at 13:02 only to find it only had 2 carriages and was already full. thought they might have expected one or two more passengers today!
Over 100 upset Wire fans, probably similar situation at Central and Birchwood.
Plan B it is!

| I'm working on the railways as we speak and the best way is to get to Deansgate and Tram it to OT. Trust me.

I hope the 100 or so Wire fans got to the game in good time. My party were going for the 3pm Padgate train but I had a call sayng the 1pm train was full and didn't let anyone on. Plan B drove to the Lowry and parked there instead.
Bad planning from the rail company

| I'm not in the know about these things but I'd assume they're planned months in advance (including how many carriages a train has).

| We had the same problem at Earlestown when the Bank Quay train came in nearly full & there must have been a hundred on the platform which filled all the standing room, then because a door wouldn't shut properly the train had to go out of service & everybody told to get off.The trains on the Liverpool to Manchester line were also full & going straight through. We finished up going by car.
