going back to a lengthy thread at the start of the season where a lot of people said that it did more harm than good?

I don't think I was registered back then, but I did have concerns about how close it was to the start of the season. However, the whole point seemed to be building up stamina, which seems to have worked quite well - we haven't had a week off since then and we're still going strong. It is interesting that the two teams who have had the fewest breaks are the ones who have finally made it to the grand final, another pointer towards the week off not being good for teams?

The season being so close was because the RFL and SL Europe brought forward the start of the season by a week after the trip had been fully organised. I didn't have a problem with it at the time and I certainly don't now.

seriously, going to Aus must have been fantastic for building team morale and for the young kids it would have been amazing! Plus exposure for the club in Aus is very important..especially when trying to attract new players.

arent they looking at the wcc in aus or dubai next year

If we win on Saturday and go to Aus again pre-season we could have the WCC then, save a bit of time and avoid the jetlag excuses.

If they're up for a challenge then playing Melbourne in their own back yard would certainly be that. Only relevant if we win on Saturday of course.

Well im hoping the WWC is in this country personally.

Well, it seems like it was just one game too many for us, so I'd say that's definitely a sign of fatigue caused by dragging the squad halfway round the world at the beginning of the year.
