| Paul is a top bloke and the people who slag him off on here (usually the younger fans unaware of his service and true affiliation with the wire) should give him the respect he deserves, the "sit in party" that certain younger fans enjoyed is in my opinion still the most shameful episode in recent wire history!

I'll go with that. Top Warrington lad is Cull.

| Anyone who ever saw Cull in a wires shirt will know there is pure P&B blood pumping through that blokes veins and he would, and often did, have ran through a brick wall for us.
Things didn't quite work out as coach for him but he deserves some of the reflected praise for the success the club is now enjoying.
Cull, Matt King, Chris Hicks, Andrew Johns, Nat Wood ...... they'll be a few people smiling today because they were a wire, so sod Stevo, Clarkey and the rest.

| I always thought it was a shame cullen wasnt given an honoury role within the club.
But I guess at the time it was best for all parties that he had a clean break.
Who knows maybe when he leaves Widnes he can come back in a Alex Murphy type role.
No one ever doubted Cullens passion, commitment and love for Warrington but he just couldnt coach us to the highest level, even though everyone was willing him to.

| Agree with all the above. He wouldn't back down to any player. I remember when he had fisticuffs with Paul Moriaty of Widnes,
the 6 foot 5 second row. A true P and B.

I felt sick seeing that protest, made worse live on Sky...Cull was rock in the Wire side when i first started watching us and he's had my respect ever since... Ok it didn't quite work out on the coaching side, but he deserves a lot of credit for how far the club as progressed..Hope we can do it for him on Saturday..

| Cullen was never the greatest player, or even very good, but he made the best of his ability, and, combined with a never say die attitude, made himself an extremely competative RL player, who was (on the whole) respected by many in the RL world.
Fast forward to his coaching career, and it's pretty much a repeat of his playing career.
Cullen coached our club for 6 years (which is extremely rare, in this day and age), and his pride/enthusiasm sometimes overrode his ability. His treatment (in 200icon_cool.gif by some fans, was deplorable. A sad chapter in the recent history of our club.
I've not got upto the end of the game, in my watching of the match (Ryder Cup coverage has started), but I can't wait to see Cullen's beaming smile, whilst Clarke is attaching the rope to the roof of the studio.

| A player who will give his all and more will always be noticed even if their skill sets are limited.
The type of player who would risk serious injury to stop a try or put you on the front foot will go well with the fans.

| Lets not let nostalgia cloud reality though. True It was a sad end to Cullen's reign and the demonstrations were well OTT, but if we are honest, PC should have left much sooner than he did IMO.

+1 No more honest and hard working player wore the p&b. What he lacked in natural ability he more than made up for in guts and determination.

| Interesting that being a fairly limited but enthusiastic player earns plaudits from the fans. Being a limited but enthusiastic coach gets you the sack.

Very impressed with Jon Wells as well.

| Several points
1. Cull was chuffed with Coops - and so he should be. After all he helped coach the lad and Coops is his nephew.
2. Cull was as hard as nails as a player and performed admirably as a player for us.
3. Cull helped create Wolves as it is today in administrative roles before moving down a league and being a success with them as coach and then stepping up to coach and save us from the drop.
4. Cull got too close to some of the players in a way that TS doesn't (not sure how that balance achieved)
5. Cull stayed too long with us because of his P&B blood and was hounded by many who know sod all about RL. This came at a time when he had major traumatic family issues to deal with. I was disgusted by those so-called ''fans''.
6. Cull needed a job so is at Widnes, and I hope he's a success as long as it is not at our expense.
7. Cull still has P&B in his blood.
End of.
