After this weeks matches, the semi finals for next week will be Wire v Saints (club call) and Leeds v Wigan. Since we beat Saints in the opening round I would think we have a good chance of the 'action replay this week, providing we play to form.

However, I have to say that this yet again shows the flaws in the playoff system. Wire finished above Saints in the table, have already beaten them in the playoffs, but could lose next week and fail to reach the GF. Three bites of the cherry for Saints and boring to have to play them twice.

Come on RFL sort this bloody mess out that you call the playoffs.

If memory serves me correctly - Saints 20'S beat wires in the league fixture at Langtree Park. I think it'll e a close game, as per usual it depends which 3 'over age 1st teamers' a chosen to play.

Getting bored with it now, but I find it impossible to accept a system whereby in theory one team can win 29 games on the bounce, lose the 30th and get nothing, but another could lose more than they win. yet be crowned champions.

No, I am afraid not. The rule that I took the time to look up for you on the internet, says it should be, and I think it will almost certainly be, HJ. But we need to await an announcement from the club to be certain. For all I know they could ask to move it to Wilderspool. I was simply avoiding a categorical 'yes' in the absence of an official notification, not giving you a sarcastic reply.

Its IS at the HJ and it IS a curtain raiser for the Hull game. As regards the first team ground rules, the U20 have played all season at Wilderspool.

I believe the rule is only enforced for the final of U20 comp. This is played at the home ground of the top seeded finalist. Where this ground is not the home ground of the relevant SL team then the RFL can select an alternative location.

Date for diary......if U20 win on Saturday, expect final to be played at the HJ on Saturday 29th.
