What was the script with the roof ?
On a day when thunderstorms were forecast they don't shut the roof!

If Saddam can send scud missiles at us in 40 minutes then there's summat wrong if we can't shut the roof in Wembley faster.

They have to decide pre-match if it is going to be open or closed... Also the flood lights take a while to warm up too. Modern stadium... Best not move onto 'club wembley'....

The roof at Wembley was "designed" to cover all the spectator areas from the elements. As an element of the design, to ensure the best conditions for the ground, the southern section of the roof is design so that it can be retracted to allow more sunlight onto the grass.

Or to put it another way....................the designers screwed up.


(OH, and dont worry about a scud attack. The missile batteries set up for the Olympics will take care of them)

To be fair I enjoyed sitting comfortably at the front of the upper watching our lot leg it for cover below.
