Is it a replay?? If so, is the venue Bolton again??

Replay, don't think they've announced the venue yet though. Seem to remember it being Brammall Lane if it finished square in either 09 or 10. Possibly both.

I'll be highly annoyed if I have to buy another ticket to watch the same game...

It was Bramall Lane last year, the RFL anounced it two days before the final(Thursday).

We all agree it's a stupid idea, 'nuff said.

The fact folk fork out hundreds of pounds, only to have to do it again (probably midwee, is pathetic. Imagine going all the way down to London, only for there to be no conclusion!! Pathetic!!

They should just award it to whoever is higher in the league to reward consistency over the season.

Odd that Wire fans would be anti-replay, given they are one of only two clubs outside of Australia to play in front of a six figure crowd as the result of one.

Thats why the RFL have bought you. They are going to turn the ground into a memorial for that game and build a Harry Bath statue in the centre of the pitch.

as someone said few week ago stik 2 quid on draw at 20/1 to cover cost of replay should it happen

If needed, replay will be Weds Sept 5th at Reebok Stadium, Bolton. Kick off 7.15.

My dad went to the replay in 54 (along, I suspect with the dads, grandads or great grandads of most people on this forum) and said he saw the ball twice when it was kicked in the air. To get home you just got on any Warrington bound coach because you had no chance of finding the one you came on. We could do with some more of that.

The only down side being that my dad used that game, that era, that team on which to judge every subsequent Wire team till '84.

My dad never stops talking about Harry Bath and Gerry Helme. He is in his 90's and still seems as interested in the Wires as he ever was. He managed to get into the ground to see the match but says there were thousands locked out and traffic jams all along the road.

IF that game ends up being required I think it's fair to say the U20's will definitely be playing against Huddersfield and Widnes.

It's a pity there isn't more film available, it just shows how much progress has been made. My knowledge is lacking and i must do some 'homework' on what many consider to be our 'finest hour'.

My youngest daughter still has his original '54 P&B scarf. Unfortuantely I lost the accompanying Tammy Shanter v Widnes in '75 It was a Bobby Dazzler ha ha and would have looked good at this years' final. I'm sure that all the fashionista's on here would have advised me on which colour Donnay top would have looked best with it?

That's a good idea. Has it ever been announced over the years what the ticket prices would be for a replay. I think the attendance would be surprising low if they were to charge full price for tickets (£26/£31 +)

I reckon the crowd would be about 15-20,000 unless tickets were very cheap. It's not 1954 anymore.

Try and get hold of a copy of 'There Were a Lot More Than That: Odsal 1954' by Robert Gate (published in the mid-nineties I think). Excellent book, if only for the pictures.
