Some of you may have seen I am selling a Wembley ticket because a very close family member has been taken very seriously ill & is currently in Warrington Hospital. My family & I are lucky and although we are middle aged we have never been in hospital.

My family member has now been in Hospital about a week and will be in for a few more weeks and after that it may well just be Palliative Care , I am amazed and humbled at how hard the Nursing Staff and Care Assistants work & how dedicated and wonderfully they treat patients in their care. I am in awe of them and they do not get paid enough for the job they do.

Also a lot of the Nursing staff are Wires, last night I was talking to a Nurse on A1 and she goes to all the games on the Booze Bus with another Nurse.

To all the Nurses & Care Assistants at Warrington Hospital particularly those on A1 a massive RESPECT from me and my family.

You normally only hear about bad things, because people rarely can be bothered to write about the good things.

Hear hear FB. My son has been in twice recently, for normal young boy stuff, nothing too serious. The staff at Warrington hospital are amazing.

I have had three stays in Warrington Hospital and I cannot echo what you say loudly enough.

The staff was amazing and hard working. They are most definitely not paid enough.

What meant a lot to me was that my consultant rang in from his home on his day off, to check on me. Actions of that kind go unreported.

My elderly mother spent the last 10 weeks of her life in Ward A7. The care that she received was absolutely outstanding. The fact that the staff nurse cried when she passed away, spoke volumes about care and dedication.

Family member was in a few times recently and you'er spot on Fatbelly. Unfortunately you're only ever going to hear about the bad experiences that one or two have had rather than the overwhelming majority who couldn't be more grateful.

How lovely of you to post this. Sadly not enough of us praise the staff so you only hear from the moaners & groaners, everyone who I have been in contact with at both Warrington & Halton are hard working & caring. Thanks Fatbelly for reminding us to say THANK YOU NURSES & DOCTORS

Thankfully its not just at Warrington Hospital my father in law passed away 1 month ago and the staff at Ashford (Kent) hospital were incredible both with him and his family during his short stay there.
The car park staff even let you park for free on a Sunday and they will turn a blind eye if you are there for long periods of time in the week. Not that you should have to pay in the first place but that is another issue.

My mum is currently on A2 for the 2nd time & the staff have been amazing, absolutely brilliant care

I also have had nothing but fantastic experiences with the NHS.

They are great and we should be proud as a country that we have such great public services.

I though the olympics highlighted this very well

It is heartening to hear stories like these, because my own personal experience, on the few sad occasions I have had to visit a relative in care at Warrington have been at the opposite end of the scale.
Leighton hospital were also terrible in terms of care for two of my grandparents too.

Nice to know there are obviously some staff around do actually give a damn.

Who would have thought that people getting paid to do a job actually do their job?

Unfortunately I have seen too many occurrences of neglect in hospitals as well.

What next, praise for the binmen emptying the bins?

I'm not going to pan the NHS i've experienced both good and very very bad service by them, but at the end of the day that was down to certain individuals.

Well Victor Meldrew there's a big difference between binmen + nurses wouldn't you say?Something like saving lives + caring for people.Bit of praise does not go amiss now + again even if it is just their job.

There are lots of people that care for people by volunteering for free. Now if you want me to have total respect for those I will gladly join in.
My sister is a nurse by the way. She can chat as well!

FFS why can't we have just one positive thread? Easiest thing in the world to knock somebody, and it is the best shield in the world. It prevents you from having to look at yourself in the mirror and realise what an insignificant twerp you are. Why, if someone wants to thank someone publically for what they perceive is above and beyond what is expected, do those of us who may have had a different experience, for whatever reason, object? Please, for most that means they have had a settled job for life.

There are exceptional people in the NHS and have dealt with many of them but lets not have the BS of "dedication to public service" banded about. I'm starting to think you picture is morphing into Stalin.
