| I'm taking the massive risk of this thread well and truly coming back to bite me on the backside after the Semi Final but... wheels fallen off again midseason?

| I don't think it's the wheels falling off. They played a good KR side that's in good form, knocked the e out of cas & recovered 14-16 point deficits against two of the top sides.
To be honest the giants looked badly coached. Brown selected a lightweight pack that got smashed. Fairbanks ?? Mason ?? Once Crabtree went off their pack had no balls and their game declined sharply when Earl went off. Their sliding defence .... well for large parts it forgot to.
Saints must be ting themselves.

Huddersfield seem to have a small nucleus of 'good' players such as Brown, Cudjoe, Brough and the ageing Crabtree but not a great deal more. These players need to be both at their best, and to play each week, for Huddersfield to excel. So I think the wheels coming off at roughly the same time as last year may be the fact that these players need a rest or have simply lost a bit of form. I thought Brown in particular looked very quiet and that is the first try that Cudjoe has scored since February. Wigan and Warrington have bigger squads of quality players and can survive the loss of e.g. Myler, Monaghen, Hodgson during the year due to injury (or indeed loss of form).
Unfortunately for Huddersfield they have lost several games in quick order and their morale has now dropped. It will take some time to rebuild and by then they may be out of the cc and much lower in the league. Even worse, they could pick up injuries to key players.

You are right. They deserve more support(ers) than they get for their teams display.

| I think Huddersfield will dispose of Brown before the end of this season.
It wouldnt surprise me if they installed their new coach before the semi against us in the hope that it will perk them up. Otherwise they are looking down the barrell of the gun.

| You do have to ask if Brown offers any better than what Saints already have ?

You just need to realise that no-one is in good form unless they are playing Wigan, and no players are good enough unless they are either already playing for Wigan, or it is becoming increasingly likely that a player will sign for Wigan. For example, Matty Smith, who has gone instantly from a run of the mill Scrum Half, playing for a poor side, to a potential world beater.
Personally I think Huddersfield are a reasonable side, but their main playmakers are seriously inconsistent. Everyone raves about danny Brough, but I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole.

| Brown certainly is better than what Saints have now.
As long as he is commited and isnt saying he is going home every 5 minutes then I think he will add the steel so badly missing from the saints right now.
