| Hoffman went last year.
Leuluai already announced he's leaving at the end of the year.
Finch is rumoured also to be going home.
And now Lima has confirmed he'll be joining up with the King & Fadge next year.
It's not looking good for our neighbours up th'M6.
To be fair, under Wane I expected them to fall this year but credit where it's due to him, after half the season they are top. But what is the reason for this exodus of overseas players in your opinion? Is it Wane? Is it Fadge going home? Maybe STomkins wage is taking up too much salary cap to compete with wages? Or is it just the imminent increase of the NRL salary cap makes it impossible for the ESL teams to compete?
Not that I'm biased in any way, it's always nice to hear Wigan losing key players - Moran we'll have Tomkins next as we don't have a salary cap

To be fair we all know why they came over here to help Melbourne out Hoffman we was all told out right 1 season only, Finch is rumored to be after big cash and if he is i dont blame us not budging only 1 player can on our team and thats a certain Mr Tomkins
Lima might be family reasons might not but thats his decision and if he wants to go let him no point forcing the issue the same happened with Barrett, He's been the best prop in sl up to now i just hope he carries on like it for the rest of the season

| Seriously who cares?
They will surely find decent replacements anyway.
We need only worry about ourselves.
We have the best and deepest squad and have played poorly apart from a hand full of games yet we are right in the mix.

I think a fair amount of it is just simply that the quality of the lads that we got was a bit better than the standard quota player (if you take into account their ages). Hoffman was only ever going to stay 1 year because of Melbournes issues, Lima is a quality player who's still under 30, and although Finch hasn't gone yet, if he does it's because again he isn't exactly close to being over the hill.
Leuluai is probably because he's achieved all he can over here.

| Our foreign players are going back to the NRL cause it's a better league and they are actually good enough to play in it. Nothing you can do if they want to play in a better league.
I suppose at least our foreign players are good enough to be wanted in the NRL.

| Maybe it's the language barrier, they can't understand Wane grunting at them.
Plus there's only finite amount of times you can walk around Haigh Hall before it gets a bit boring.

| But surely that's what we should be trying to do as well?
With our great youth system perhaps we could start thinking of shipping out some of our expensive NRL imports and promoting some young home grown talent for once?

No mate it's not a dig although I can see why you may think that. All I meant was, it (might) show that the imports we've had in recent years have been good ones.

As I said in my post above^ I wasn't having a dig at you guys
And yes, king is absolutely good enough to play in NRL and in a way proves my point, that the best of the imports will a.ways be tempted to go back and play in a (sadly) better/more competitive league.

| With Roberts retirement through injury, and goodness knows what will happen with Fielden (rumoured to be fit for August), we will have lots of changes thats a fact. But a hell of a lot of salary and quota spots free. It will be interesting to see what IL and Wane have up their collective sleeves. And as this matter is being commented on your board, clearly of interest to some of you lot too.
See you at the next Brigantes meeting Yed..

True but.
[uReturn to the NRL (2010)[/u
In late 2009, Smith began training with the Brisbane Broncos in a bid to win a return to the NRL through their Queensland Cup feeder side Easts Tigers. Months later, he signed with the Cronulla Sharks. In his first match back in the NRL, he played his former club the Parramatta Eels, and was influential in leading the Sharks to a 11–0 win, scoring a penalty goal and a field goal. Since then however Smith has been inconsistent and subpar which has resulted in his axing to the NSW Cup.
Just saying.

I think its more to do with the situation that arose to sign 3 of the 4 players. It was only ever going to be short term due to the salary cap problems at Melbourne. If Fadge as you put it didnt come over no would Hoffman, Lima, or Finch. TL has been here for years so I dont think there is a link there
