| Hi,
I'm going to be going out with the father and brother in law over the weekend, and I want to get into a pub that;
a) Has a good standard big screen to watch the sport on.
b) Has a good atmosphere, for most sporting events(but not too busy)
C) Has a good reputation(i.e. not too many knobs who use it as their local - haha)
In either Penketh, Sankey or Westbrook !!!!!
Is there any locals on here, who can reccommend anywhere?
Cheers.

| The Woodys is ok and passes a & b, just can't be sure about who will be in there for c. All in all, I've been in there a few times for football not covered by sky & ESPN and had no bother.

| The Ferry Tavern is a brilliant pub but doesn't have a TV. Defo pop into it though.

| Red lion had a saints game on last season when I was in. Few Saints shirts watching the game, even though they were playing 4 miles down the road.

| Hope it isn't too late. The sportsmans (without an apostrophe) have got rid of sky sports (what I was told 2 weeks ago).
For a pint there is trigger pond and the ferry but e for sport. You can pass all the checks with the red lion.
Chapel house is e. Beer is usually off and tele leaves a lot to be desired. Fit barmaids though.
There isn't really somewhere that ticks all your boxes. Butchers is nice though. I would recommend that.

Once is a mistake, twice is inexcusable. Twice I have been when the beer had turned.

| If you want a decent pint, then avoid pubs that serve food. Ale is normally cack and will be full of kids running around.
Get the bus into town and Wilkies, decent beer and a knowledgeable RL crowd in there, no trouble either. Finish off in the Lower Angel.

| All of the are technically my locals.
Woodies is great, they will have the game on, plenty of screens.
Chapel is good, they only have a couple of tv's and it's a pretty small pub. Barmaids are very attractive.
Ignore the Trigger, they sold out from being a pub to being a restaurant.
Butchers Arms has recently been done up, lots more TV screens, and they now have San Miguel on draught, unfortunately it's at the expense of Fosters but it could have been worse, they could have replaced it with some crap like Heineken.
