I was suprised that the Ryan Atkins try was ruled out, he's clearly not looking at the ball, he's focused on tackling the Wigan player. Surely its a case of the ball playing the man rather than the man playing the ball.

I'm pretty sure ive seen these given before in a sky game, lets say a kicker on the last tackle puts through a kick that hits a defending player on the arm and he knows nothing about it, he then he drops on the loose ball, is that then a knock on if the ball played the man rather than the man playing the ball ?

I thought for a knock on the man had to be making a play at the ball ?

I also thought it would be given, its not like he swung his arm out to hit the ball like player do trying to prevent a break... he just hit the ball in the act of the tackle, so should have ben play on in my opinion, but Wigan seem to get alot of calls like that.

I thought teh Atkins try was a definate try, mind you I also thought O'Loughlin was a mile off-side for his try; shows what I know.

I thought the Atkins one was a try. We seem to see a lot of decisions go against the defending team when this type of thing happens and IMO most of the time they get it wrong.

classic case of 'benefit to the losing side'... it happens all the time... when a team is getting mullered, they get all the decisions.... nothing wrong with that try at all.. Atkins just dominated them and had a perfectly good try scrubbed off.

the officials were just trying to stop another 'these thrashings are doing RL no good' threads.

Can't comment just yet. However, I want to ask what happened when there was a kick in an d(I think Myler) caught it in the second half. Turned out a wigan penalty. Was he offside? and how bad was it?

Penalty was for offside which I'm not too sure about, it was a close one, however he knocked on anyway and failed to ground the ball.

I think you have to look at it from both ways... Wigan were the attacking team, so "advantage" (for want of a better word) lies with them. Because a Warrington player knocks the ball towards the Wigan line, should Wigan then be disadvantaged?

To the letter of the law, the decision was correct, benefit of the doubt to the attacking team... which is probably where the confusion over the video ref's text comes in.

I have to say though, for me, the King one was dodgy. I've seen them chalked off, so I guess we're back in evening itself out territory.

He's right, in two SL games this season You have had 63 points breeze past you and only managed to score 18, jeez...we scored 18 in the first 20 yesterday.

Not that it made any difference @ that stage of the game, but I think it should have been given - non-sky game I guess it would have been given straight away

That's all correct, apart from the fact that he wasn't passing the ball, he was trying to secure it/at best fumbling with it but was dunging it about the imminent tackle, the force of which made him lose contol of the ball.

The ones where the player is passing the ball, and it gets knocked down I don't think there's an RL supporter in the land would disagree with you on this.

he wasn't anywhere near passing the ball...loose carry and a good tackle caused the ball to come out.
